Bugbear's "Next Car Game" need your vote - Steam Greenlight.

i backed this game a while back it is really fun. have the early access and have a video up on my youtube channel. still a few problems but for a pre alpha it runs great and looks awesome. will be great fun when it is released.

Just pre-ordered and played pre alpha and its great!!!

Few things I think -

Not sure how to explain it but I think crashes could be better maybe something with the sound....
Vync performance cap seems a little keen.....it really wants to put you down to 30FPS....
Anti-Analysing could be upped a bit....bit sharper would be good....

But as say its seems great so far!!

Thanks to all them youtude videos of the Sneak Peek playground demo and the pre-alpha release before Christmas, Bugbear has now reach their 10,000 pre-order goal:

Early Access through Steam.

Next Car Game - Early Access Pre-Alpha Gameplay - video

Now Bugbear can take some extra time and add some extra stuff they want to do before releasing Next Car Game. And no middle man publisher to screw things up!! :D

Why Do We Need Your Help?

It’s actually very simple. This is not going to be a small game, we have a lot of ambition on what Next Car Game could be. We’ve invested over one million dollars into the game already. This would normally be the time when we go looking for a publisher to take us the rest of the way. This time, however, we want to make the game that we want – the game that you want – not the game that a publisher wants. Making games costs some serious money, but if everything goes well, we’ll have a great, tight-knit community that’s going to support a lot of awesome content over the years!

We at Bugbear have a long track-record of making high-octane racing games, and we know that we can pull it through with your support. We’ve been making racing games for over 13 years, and this is our tenth (10 !) game. We’re recreating a type of experience we’ve already shipped three times on four different platforms, so we do know what we’re doing.

"Next Car Game" pre-order may go live on Steam this month and hopefully Bugbear will have pick the official new name for NCG.

Purchased :)

For little over £15.00 good value, final game should be great fun.

Quick tube search & found decent quality video of the alpha builds off road track.

Has anyone played the alpha? I'm loving it, really impressed for the money I paid for it, looking forward to the final release. Very good work by Bugbear on this one.

Yep - I spent a good 4 hours playing the alpha :D

Love the american muscle car on the dirt track. Difficulty feels about right too - tough but not impossible with a good drive. Bit of luck, lots of skill = win :D

Wasn't so keen on the road course and shockingly yet to try the bowls :(

its great fun, backed this a while back and love all the tracks so far. the AI is damb good as well. they dont stick to a racing line like they are rails like every other racing game. they will avoid you as well, showed this in my video about it. very impressed for a pre alpha.

Ok..

Just got two keys, one which activates on steam and another one.

The weekend smasher takes me to a download link, and the steam key downloads the game. What is what? LoL

Installing the tarmac tyres gives better traction on the dirt course. Click the little white arrow above the car on the selection screen. You can upgrade the engine too but I found it too powerful for the dirt course.

I actually preferred the road track over the dirt one, I found it too small with lots of corners. Plus, on the road track it's quite satisfying side shunting another car into the pillars under the two bridges.

The download zip file is for the v2.0 Sneak Peek demo playground with the object cannon. This demo is to show off Bugbear new damage model. :)

Breaking news, this just got posted over at Bugbear forum today - Mixed-surface tracks thread:

>>>Purple44
>>>Timo Palonen
***We're currently working on couple of tracks that feature both tarmac and gravel on the same circuit. These will be added along the way for sure.

We've got some prototype snow and mud tracks too, but they are way down the line in development at the moment. But maybe in the future... Who knows ;)

You made me smile today, this first that I have read that Bugbear is working on snow tracks!!!! :D :D :D

If the snow tracks won't be ready for release, I can wait until expansion pack. The snow tracks would be a good selling point for an expansion pack.

Please, please Bugbear, release a snow map. The snow tracks were very popular in Flatout 1 and in the POLL: Favorite environment, the Winter forest is second at 50 votes.

I think I will start a new thread to talk about snow tracks, instead of getting off topic here.

Now that it been confirm that Bugbear is looking at snow tracks, I want to encourage Bugbear to continue developing a snow map with different track variations and hope others will post and ask Bugbear to give us snow tracks.

Want snow tracks? Let Bugbear know here.

I understand the whole Green light and early access for smaller indie developers but bugbear?

Unless I'm getting mixed up they were the ones that Namco had for RR Rebounded, and they made an absolute mess of it, not a RR by a far stretch of the imagination. Are companies now treating this as a way of funding their game so if it's an absolute failure it doesn't matter?

What a great early access demo this is so far.

I have massive hopes for this game, particularly when it gets multiplayer.

The physics and feel of the cars is brilliant!
