Burnout Paradise - The Ultimate Box

how do you add friends in the game? shall we get an ocuk freind list started - start some ocuk online games?

also is it possible to have custom soundtracks - like in gta 4? i.e. the game reads mp3's from my computer?

also how do you talk over viop in game - i have a webcam and my name is constantly flashing like im saying somethign but i cant hear anything??

You're not meant to, I don't think, it's sent out to the other people online. The music will mute for them everytime you 'say' something, So try to disable/mute it when you're not using it, as it does get quite annoying only hearing someone elses background noise. I think it's to cancel echo, perhaps.
It will show the speaker icon for your name when it picks up noise from your mike.

Really am loving this game so far, just wish they had included the crash modes from the previous Burnout's..!! :(

Yeah, really miss that and i cant stand the replacement crash/showtime mode. Overall it plays and runs great for me and the online mode is as well executed as it was on the 360, it really is nice to see a console>pc port done properly :).

Anyone have any idea how to get double monitors working on Vista? I did some searching and apparently for some reason Microsoft took out Vistas ability to do horizontal span over more than one monitor, so you pretty much can't do it, end of.

Le suck. I was wondering about this too :/

It'd be handy to be able to just have the map on my 2nd monitor to be honest. A larger map would make things a little easier with my inability to navigate more than 3 feet without crashing.

that'd be awesome :p

I haven't tried it, as I don't have a second montitor, but horizontal spanning may work in Windows 7?
It better do, MS would be stupid not to include it this time. I probably won't upgrade to 7 for a while since I got vista soon after release.

ok, i need a new graphics card, but then i need a new psu for my shuttle to power it, so may as well buy a new shuttle... then a new hd and better memory... it could go on and on ... :D will have a go with the demo

just about to download the demo, think this will run ok on my spec?

Ive got an Opteron 165 (at around 2.4GHz) and an 8800GT, and it works flawlessly at 1280x1024, High detail, no AA. Not noticed any slowdown yet at 20+ hours in.
There's not too much difference between the 9600 and the 8800 afaik.

Not sure how your CPU will fare as I don't know how important CPU is to this game.

I have a Q6600 (at default) and 9600GT, and the game runs impeccably at 1280x1024, at max settings, except for the SSOA thing which seems to kill the framerate on most machines.

OK, downloaded the demo and it's everything I expected from a Burnout game, but with one problem... my gamepads don't work with it! :( I tried both a Thrustmaster pad designed for the PC and a DualShock2 with a PS2 pad with a Dualshock-to-USB adapter. XP recognised them both, I tried them in a couple of different USB ports, I plugged them in before launching the game, but still no joy!

Has anyone gotten this to work with anything apart from a 360 pad?

Yes, I am using an old Xbox pad (original Xbox) with the XBCD drivers.

Note that the game didn't detect the pad exactly - when I went to configure the controls it just showed the keyboard option. But you can still configure it to use the pad buttons and sticks etc, and when you do, then it recognises it.

Game keeps getting stuck at the loading screen. For an infinite amount of time the arrow just spins and spins..
Tried this No-Intro fix I found which is supposed to solve the issue however still having no luck. Anyone else with this issue?
