edit: okay I confirmed this is a real dev qoute although I can't find the exact post bruno answered a post of me asking whether it was a true quote or made up...

Watch this space.... Doors could be open again, very SMSoon.... With investments for pCARS for the next gen consoles (PS4/xBoxOne).... Those people that invest into the next gen consoles, will also be able to download and play the builds for the PC version of pCARS Just waiting finale confirmation....

hahaha sorry had to respond what a joke.

dubious business policies shut down so people cant join the pc packages. now shut down they are going to open a console trial but you can play on the pc aswell :p guess they need more money.

whats the fsa address again ? talk about treading the line.

Next Gen dev kits can't be cheap!

Plus I can't see why this is an issue anymore considering Star Citizen has earned something like $14 million! As well as kickstarters becoming the norm for projects.

they are waiting "final confirmation" from the FSA

The budget from this will be used to port ps4/xbone versions that otherwise aren't going to happen it's not because they are desperate for the money...
the FSA have already been shown SMS can afford to refund every toolpack.

don't forget when the original toolpacks were sold the next gen consoles weren't even announced so making versions for them was never even considered in the budget it was assumed the game would launch along time before they would even be announced

I believe you've reported people to moderators for "baiting" you?

If your last post isn't baiting, then I don't know what is.

For the record.

The purchase of tool packs was already closed when the game became fully funded. SMS then reduced their investment and profit share to allow existing members to upgrade to higher tier tool packs. It was this phase that was suspended by the FSA while they investigated whether miss selling of shares was occurring. Obviously nothing untoward was discovered and the only stipulation the FSA made was that it had to be made clear that anyone could get a full refund at anytime.

That's it.

Nothing dodgy at all.

The opportunity to invest in the next generation console version of the game has been discussed and been on the cards for a long time. And since the testing can only be carried out on the PC version of the game, for the vast majority, then that's the version you test when you buy a tool pack for te next generation of consoles.

Nothing to so with short of cash.

The cost of development for the next generation of consoles wasn't included in the original budget. Therefor more funds are required.

Now, if you don't have anything constructive to add to the discussion then please don't bother posting.

I've not heard anything about this game till now. Is this basically Gran Turismo for the PC? My mate has purchased this and i'm wondering if I could log into his account, download it and play it to see what it's like. Not played a good racing game in ages.

barmyllama no bait i find it dubious how the pc packages were shut down and the fsa were involved now instead of reopening the pc buy in packages they doing via console by ins which seems a bit of a loop hole to allow the pc people to by in . (dont call troll just cause i dont agree with you that's quite small minded ).

hopefully you can see what i mean. ill let the fsa and groups involved sort it out. the very fact that they are investigating again this kinda speaks for itself.

also asking for more funding they are regardless of platform and why the have released this because they know they can raise money to do it.

so please dont say they haven't when its very obvious they have.

Why would they reopen the existing package when funding is already complete and any new people into this would just dilute any potential profit for the big investors with manager and senior manager packs....

You think it's free to port a game , hire dedicated testers for the 2 new platforms etc... optimise it for that systems hardware..

if DG is not trolling then he's probably drunk

why cause i put my op i must be drunk or trolling so much double standards bs. reason i stopped posting in this thread in first place. you can have it back.

no because what you just said in your last few posts makes little sense and doesn't appear very thought out almost as if you are attempting to get a reaction.

also known as "trolling"

check your own wording

Why would they reopen the existing package when funding is already complete ?

well then they could raise some more cash to put towards the development of the console side. instead of doing this they doing a console option but it allows you to play on pc. why not just reopen the pc side aswell?

they know people who arent in the pc packages are going to buy the console version packages just to play on pc thats why i said what i said . dont play stupid when you know yourself they are doing that to get extra money from pc players who want in.

i dont mind pc players want to get in but why do it through a console buy in when a pc platform raised its money ? it seems like a loop hole to get more money to help develop the game from people who already donated enough to make the pc version but cause how it was done some people missed out once target was reached so they reopening just under a different label " console " .

that's dubious . whether you agree or not. they got there funding target and pc work and such was done. now they going to get more money from pc players just because they opening up a chance via the console buy in.

just think about it stop with dg trolling and look at it logically.

they put a pc bait out to get more money to help with the dev work on the console side i get it i understand it whether its allowed well see. its treading a very thin line though and thats why the fsa is involved. saying it isnt and trolling just because you love the game i get but its still wrong.

Instead of fighting could anyone reply to my question please? :p

games decent not great physics if you want the best car game phsyics wise go play rbr with the 2013 mod 100 cars and tracks for a 5 quid note. still nothing to beat it realistically .

with a years work it could be gt ish but cant see it. they seem to make it worse each patch.

I can't be bothered to count again but it's something like 41 tracks and 46 cars right now.
Although the tracks have multiple layouts as do the real life versions.

there's no car upgrades apart from tuning all the various setup options..
so it's not exactly GT for the pc but probably as close as we will get anytime soon.

BTW you could use his account but only one of you could play it at a time as there's online authentication servers to stop random people downloading builds from torrent websites and being able to play them.

There is a career mode planned with structure and some of it is implemented in basic form already.
there won't be buying cars with ingame cash though.
I think the devs said all cars and tracks are unlocked at the start and career progression will work like in real life.

Thanks for the info. Might wait a while till it's more complete. 46 cards doesn't sound like a a lot really. :(

It's in alpha so more games will be coming down the line and to be honest I would expect much more than 40 cars in most modern racing games (bar Forza/Gran Turismo series). It is also a long way off being complete with some time next year being the deadline which mean ths game can be in a very broken state at times with certain cars but yet amazing with others.

The physics and such feel great and each car is a real challenge to drive and each feels very different. Personally I find it too hard myself so I prefer playing other racing games :p

You can't actually buy the game at the moment so it will be a while before you could even take the plunge if you wanted to :D
