*******C.A.R.S - Community Assisted Race Sim*********

Unless its an F1 car it should be ok to take round, the time is another matter. iracing gets a bit silly at the low speeds it will fully spin the car, like driving on ice I think some racing driver said

Iracing has had low speed issues but the latest version of NTMv5 found on the skip barber etc sorts that out.

Career mode is not functional (at all really) at the moment. The plan is to have the structure in before Christmas though and a first pass by the end of October. Overall it's doing great - since a focus has been put onto tire model tweaking with CFPT weekly tests the physics have come a long way.

Obviously there is still a lot of work to go but I personally am having more fun with it than any other sim I've dipped into. Plenty of features coming but we've already got a decent game which I've already put over 250 hours into.

Disappointing, career is what I want soon. I just can't seem to get into it without it.
They must be a very small dev team then? It seems to be taking an age to develop.

Edit: October NEXT YEAR?

This year for basic implementation is in the plan, next year should be release time.

Fairly large dev team - just a very large scope!

as much i rant about this game im glad they are taking the time too get it right it could be massive. it doesnt want to be rushed to get the best of it.

Kudos to you mate, I understand you completely. Some of the game is a mess currently - I honestly think there is a great game coming out of this though, it's getting there certainly.

It definitely seems to be going down the right track (no pun intended :D) I just hop e they smash the living daylights out of the career mode!

Those water effects, thats just something they're adding for realism, as well as a realistic drying racing line too, right? because otherwise it seems fairly pointless, and if they're going to have a water layer, then they'd be better if the lighter (shallower) area was the racing line if they cant implement both effects. This would be pointless if they're not doing something for drying racing lines too. I'd imagine its been brought up, and responded to, i just barely look on there these days because i feel like 95% of stuff brought up isnt listened to, unless the devs have asked specifically for feedback on it or its a serious glitch/bug. Anything else is ignored, which means reading 95% of the forum is pointless.

Slighty Mad did a very good job with the career mode for the shift series so I reckon they'll do a decent job at it.

pCars is getting quite good now, still serious issues with performance regarding night and wet conditions.

however they do seem to be crafting a very nice racing game. The handling and sounds have come on leaps since I first started playing it. Clocked up some serious hours since moving to Steam

they need to open this up to early access on steam, shame they wont' or can't.

there was already a drying line months ago when water was first added to the circuits as reflective pools of water.

but water did not effect the grip of the cars at all back then but was supposed to eventually.

Seems the game has improved in a quite few areas recently. Many of the tracks have been fleshed out with more detail (Nordschleife is very well done) and some of the sounds are really nice (Gran Turismo take note). Physics are still a crapshoot but some cars like the GT3s feel pretty convincing now. Performance can still be dire in certain conditions but overall I think it runs smoother now than it has before.

Is there a way I can download this game now? Always liked the look of it, never found a way to get it :(

Not at the moment, the game is fully funded and so the option to purchase tool packs has closed.

There will be an opportunity to purchase tool packs again when they open up funding for the next generation console version.

I only just decided to reinstallk this after aaaages of leaving it alone. Had a few blasts round the first career race and bloody hell it has improved!

That is very pretty to me, and the helmet view has really improved too.

yea buy grid 2 instead of DG's recommendation if you want a sim

cant leave it alone and best thing is i never said grid 2 :p

if you want a sim now to play you buy richard burns rally and dl free 2013 mod this is the most realistic driving game period or go play iracing.

wait for this game as it wont be ready for minimum another year yet.
