*******C.A.R.S - Community Assisted Race Sim*********

Having played about 8-9hours so far with a wheel I am liking it. I have turned my csw v1 up to highest strength and through the corners it feels good and gives good feedback throughout a lap. The only exception is on straights, say a track like Bathurst and mountain straight. With the wheel straight there is no feedbqck, it feels a bit numb then but this is not a deal breaker and will hopefully be improved in the future or when I get around to digging into the ffb settings.

I don't regret the purchase at all though, for me, its above asset to corsa.

Iracing isn't a sim either according to most racing professionals ie the ones not paid by iracing to give an opinion.

some of the cars in that game you can't even drive using the same techniques people use in the game.

This game still feels and plays like an Early Access title. As for the Community Assisted part of the game was the Community so caught up in profiteering from it that they neglected to test the online part as one example.

The Server browser doesn't even tell you if the game you want to join is in qualifying or racing - neither which you can join but spectate whilst you wait for the game to finish.:rolleyes:

I would save your money. And wait for it to be about £5 it's not worth more then £10
Or wait for the demo.you might like it.or not.
Handing of the cars are the biggest problem.
I'm sorry but this game should suit both wheel and GAMEPAD!!!!!!!

thanks, think i will do ;) looks nice but cant justify a wheel atm

Only the fan boys kept going, those who complained got banned or refunded.

For me the game had more feel to FFB two years ago then they seemed to dumb it down when a certain person joined the team.

I'm not saying it's bad it just doesn't seem to give as much feel as it should do.

As for the menus they're just daft.

FFB uses three separate pages in different locations and it's taken me two days to work out how to access My Garage from the lobby as the main link is locked.

Aslo using a scroll window to gain access to one or two setting when 70% of the screen is blank is frustrating.

As for the physics they're a bit hit and miss good,bad and ugly depending on the car.
My biggest issue is with the grip, you can brake hard in a perfectly straight line with you hands off the wheel and two wheels on the grass, it's one of the biggest challenges getting a car slowed correctly and it doesn't exist here.
All this does is encourage people to overdrive and cut corners.
On the other hand put two wheel in the gravel at Laguna Seca and it grabs you and sucks you in.

You also only have one setup per car and track which is crazy when you have weather and night driving in a game.

The game is just so inconsistent, but it can be fun once you get in a good clean MP race and AI isn't anywhere near as bad as Assetto Corsa.

The community grew too big and they stopped listening or bothering fixing the bugs :)

devs said loads of stuff would be fixed and it never happened.

tyre smoke was supposed to be a place holder?
Doppler effects are still as bad as ever?
FFB never got fixed
Handling never went full sim
When the car leaves the ground and enters the air physx takes over with the worst possible air physics known to man so non of the crashes are realistic it's like the cars lose mass as soon as the game switches physics engine
The new menu system screams console as it's not intuitive with a mouse at all or with a wheel since the buttons it shows on screen aren't the same icons as the buttons on my wheel.
other games did this fine DFGT wheel so games show playstation button icons
I think even shift 2 did this?

It's not a hardcore sim like they said it would be clearly it's dumbed down for consoles.

Why are all the historic tracks turned into DLC??!?!?!?!?!?!? they existed ages ago in the beta and so did some of the cars they decided should be dlc

Force feedback is terrible in fact I can turn feedback to 0 and still get feed back at points when I go off the track which is just stupid it's like the ffb is bugged more than anything.

how can you feel some effects at 0 ffb strength ?


The games not as bad as a lot of people say, it's quite enjoyable to drive but it starts to feel pointless after a few laps for me.

It shouldn't be a full price game it should be like £25 max on pc

The only time I joined an online race it was already in qualifying but let me join, wouldn't let me leave the pits with 3 mins left.
warm up session started and the only option I had was to exit the session because I hadn't qualified.
never bothered trying mp again
