*******C.A.R.S - Community Assisted Race Sim*********

I've had the Server up on and off tonight for what must be a couple of hours all totalled up and not a single person has joined it, I even just left it while I went AFK for 20-30mins and not a single joiner, not sure if they are not seeing it or just not joining? Either way it gets pretty boring fast sitting there in the Lobby hoping others will join.

I agree it is not the best system at the moment but it is all we have.

I would suggest if playing, set a practice session, go and race and people will see the session in the lobby and join.

Or, post in here saying you are starting a session or posting a day in advance a start time, that would get more to join perhaps?

The problem with just starting a session is that it is not announced anywhere so nobody knows.

Rather than

-searchds "*****OcUK_Forum*****"

can we simply do

-searchds "OcUK"

and it will list all servers which include OcUK somewhere in their name? I also assume the server is idle then the in game Filter will not pick it up unlike the above option? I did look Saturday sometime, just in game, but didn't see anything so just joined a random game. No one crashed in to me :)

Yes, if the server is "idle", it will not be shown. What the "-searchds "*****OcUK_Forum*****" does is allow all your "Created games" to run through the server, when this happens and the server is then "active", it will then show in the server browser.

You should be able to use part of the name, yes.

You should be able to view all active servers here:

Alas, that has been down for a while and devs being quiet as to what is going on.

I am hoping it is being overhauled.

I was going to say, the only mod tools at the moment are whitelists/blacklists.

I think if people post in here "Hey, am playing, anyone joining" that would be something along with a schedule perhaps of planned events?

I have created a Steam Group which is currently public:

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ocukpcars#events

The calendar is also publicly accessible so anyone can post an event, the advantage of this is everyone can see what is going on AND everyone gets a shiny Steam pop up near the start of the event :)

The game is going to be what we make of it. Surely between us we can cobble something together and have some fun.

cant login to steam at work. stupid network. will try tonight

Have a look at a wheelstand pro. Not that expensive and served me fine till I got something larger.

I'm sure no one minds you joining as long as you aim for good clean racing, its not all about outright pace.

This.

If I can finish last without ruining anyone elses race, that is a good race.

Accidents can and will happen Kinger so do not worry. While learning, best to concede a corner safely than push too hard and knock someone out.
