*******C.A.R.S - Community Assisted Race Sim*********

it will be available on consoles on release, so i'd be very surprised if it had problems with the gamepad. right now the gamepad still doesnt feel right, but its still great to play with

I tried that but thats too much turning of the wheel, always had my wheel set at 240 for any game. I dunno why its so hard to set everything up.

For some reason in this game it works though, you don't have to turn your wheel 900 degrees to get full lock in the game.

I've never been a big fan of using a lot of wheel action myself.

I set mine to 900 degrees in profiler/win

in game calibration
Turn the wheel to 100 max rotation

and when it says turn to 90degrees
turn it until the number reads 900

In the vehicle setup just select the best ratio for the steering.

@DJ Jestar - how come you're so down on the project? Have you actually tried it yourself or are you just going with the "while ever it resembles Shift in any shape or form, I'm not touching it with a very long pole" theory?
Of course there are similarities, it's built using the same graphics engine and there's a lot of placeholder stuff in place which is far from finished. If you did take the time to register and try it for yourself (and read the proper forums) you'll see that SMS are desperate to shrug off the shackles of Shift and make Project CARS the best racing sim/game they possibly can. Remember that almost all the changes being made on a daily basis are guided by the community's wishes and whilst they are never gonna please everyone, they sure are trying.
Bear in mind that most of the SMS team produced GTR and other "proper" racing sims so it really is unfair to judge them just on Shift's reputation. I think 100% arcade is hardly fair for Shift either (Outrun is 100% arcade) Shift feels similar to the likes of Forza and GT to me as somewhere in the middle.

I would say the two cars and tracks that are the furthest along in development are the Asano x4 Touring car, Formula B, Connecticut Hill and Bologna so I would say we could have two?

Formula B - Bologna

Asano X4 Touring - Connecticut Hill

We wouldn't need proof of times or assists, its only a bit of fun :)

Connecticut Hill - Asano X4.

@zytok

I'm not against the project at all. :) I've been using it for ~6months. I'm against people overselling it, or simply lying that it's not similar to Shift2.

And fwiw, GTR etc. are rubbish sims. SimBin don't know what car physics should be.

I wish Project CARS devs would come out and say what driving sims they regard as outstanding physics wise - just for us to understand their system of values on something so difficult to quantify objectively - physics of car behavior.
Do they regard GTR as a good attempt? LFS? NkPro? This answer would be a good indication.

Ask them. :)

iirc they say that iRacing is good, but has too little grip based on their own real world racing experience (which is a lot more than i thought it would be)

ps, will get some times before i head to bed
