It seems a little odd that I couldn't find the system requirements to play the game until I paid 10 euros! Only then could I access the FAQ which told me! Turns out I can't play it after all!

PM one of the mods there, and ask for a refund. You are not buying a game, you are testing it, and if you can't do that then there is no point.

how is the t500 mate, im seriously considering getting 1???

i have a g27 now, good upgrade???

Yes it's a very good upgrade.

I like the fact that the wheel is larger and it's more comfortable than the G27. The FFB delivery is superior to the G27, there's no deadzone or that notchy feeling you can get with both the G27 and G25.

The shifter paddles are miles better than the G27 and the fact that they don't move with the wheel hasn't cause me any issues so far.

The pedals are even heftier than the Logitech pedals and they are also spaced further apart which suits me better. I like the feel of the accelerater and clutch pedal more than the G27, but the brake pedals feels pretty much the same. I have tried the pedals in the inverted GT style, but the base isn't as stable and it just feels more comfortable in the F1 position.

The brake pedal mod you get with the T500 is only really any use if your pedals are fixed in a sim rig or up against a wall, otherwise when you brake hard the pedals move. Over all the build quality feels higher, but then that's something you'd expect for an extra £180

There are a few areas the G27 score above the T500.

For a start most of my older games just don't work properly with the T500.

F1 2010 and DIRT2 just dont work at all.

DIRT 3 does, but it's not as good as the G27.

Race 07 doesn' work well either, I even set the wheel up exactly as described on the Trustmaster website and it's still pretty much unplayable. I haven't tried iRacing because I haven't renewed after my 3 month sub ran out. It's also a lot louder than the G27 once the fan kicks in.

Project CARS and obviously Gran Tursimo 5 work very very well with the wheel I'm happy I bought it.

I've also made a video of the Road America track in the Palmer Jaguar, I really like this track and the car.

And one showing the suspension in action. This is the AI driving.

thanks for the reply.

i was going to ask about the pedals as im using the g27 pedals with the nixim mod and a bodnar lead, so im guessing the brake mod you get makes the pedal stiffer like the nixim mod does to the g27 pedals??

mine are hard mounted in my obutto cockpit...

Here's a picture of it. It's basically a couple of pieces of foam rubber glued together with a spring in the middle. There are two ways the rubber block fits to give more or less stiffness.

aye that looks like the same thing more or less...

cheers bro...

want them even more now...lol...

how many steps of resolution do the pedals have???

Anyone got any advise? :D

I'm using stock settings with my G27 which feels pretty good with most of the cars! The trouble I'm having is catching the backend when it starts to go, it is reallly reallly hard to catch it as soon as it starts slipping. I play a fair few other racing sims and don't tend to have this issue so I'm wondering if its party due to my wheel setup. Any advise in what I could change, I'm guessing the wheel rotation as maybe 900 degrees is a bit much? I did try to re-calibrate that using the ingame tool but it didn't seem to do much :D

I had the Logitech profiler set to default settings, this means that the game is allowed to make changes to FFB and steering rotation. I then use the calibratiion tool in game to set the wheel, making sure that when you come to set the 90 degree setting the number at the top reads 900.

From the pCARS forum.

Open the F1 menu, go to Vehicle -> FFB settings and reduce both options by a factor of ~10. I.e. 0.9 -> 0.09, 0.25 -> 0.03. It might feel better reduced less or more than that, but try it out as for a few cars it makes quite a difference in feel, removing the 'spring' around the center.

For anyone else that doesn't spot the spec prior to joining, it's just below the big red "Engine Start" button on this page:-
http://www.wmdportal.com/projects/cars/

MINIMUM SPEC

CPU - 3.0GHz Dual-Core, 2.4GHz Quad-Core
GRAPHICS - nVidia 9600 GT 512Mb, ATI Radeon HD 4750 512Mb
MEMORY - 2Gb RAM (3Gb-4Gb recommended)
CONNECTION - Continuous Internet

Doh.. Thanks man, I really should have spotted that but I was infuriated at not being allowed access to the FAQ..

I tell a lie, it runs on my system after all!

..All low or off, and at 2-3fps...maybe time for an upgrade.

I upgraded to full team member a couple of weeks ago. Debating whether or not to upgrade again to senior before the chance goes if they sign with big investor they've mentioned.

I doubt I will as I have stuff to save for now...

I don't mind paying a little upon release seeing as I still get all the bonuses while it's in development ...

Just wondering would turning v-sync on affect performance below 60 fps? (my monitor refresh rate)

Because im getting about 65 fps in most parts of the race and the screen keeps splitting, but there are dips to about 45-55fps when there are more cars. So would turning v-sync on solve the splitting without affecting my performance when fps is lower?

V-Sync will half your fps when below 60.
