I said that the Trustmaster T500 RS didn't work properly with Race '07 and it's expansions.

Well after a bit of digging I found Trustmaster have created a profile you can add to your SimBin/RACE07/UserData/ControlSet folder and I have to say it's absolutely superb. It makes the G27 feel like a toy iin comparison.

I have turned down the FFB settings in game from max to medium and slightly turned down other effects because they were just too strong. I also changed the wheel rotation from 1080 to 360 degrees in the Thrustmaster Control Panel, so the wheel movement in my hands matches the wheel movement on screen.

I was a bit miffed that Race '07 didn't work out of the box with my new wheel, but after adding the profiles Thrustmaster provide, it's added a new level to an already great game.

The profiles are on this page with instructions:

Might dig out my rFactor key now.

thats great info mate, im still thinking of buying a t500 and recently got into Race 07 and the btcc track mods, so i need it to work with the t500 if i get 1...

Yeah. Without that profile from Thrustmater in the correct folder, the FFB just bounces around the centre of the wheel. You have to hold the wheel central, otherwise it feels like it's falling from the centre. It's like trying to hold up a drunk person.

With the profile it's a new game altogether, the FFB gives way more information than the G27 ever did. I just hope the SMS improve the FFB with the T500 to at least as good a level as this.

have they said who they got the extra money off yet ?

No.

There's a lot of specualtion flying around because someone spotted a video of another game being developed for Porche that has the same UI in game as pCARS, but nothing concete from the devs.

Whatever happens, it helped to boost funding.

So I've just been reading up on project CARS and it seems a lot of of you have been doing some extensive testing on it. Based on that, is it worth paying for and having a go?

If you are expecting a game anywhere near finished then the answer is no. If you want to test the game through different stages of development, find and report bugs, give feedback and help steer the game into something you want to play then by all means give the junior tool pack a go. If you do go for the junior tool pack, don't expect all the content either.

To be honest if I was going to get stuck in I'd go for the team member pack. It just seems like a very interesting way to get involved. I understand that it's far from a finished product, but the idea of getting involved at such a integral level is very appealing.

I've just joined as junior member to see what it's like.

Am I right in thinking that I get exactly the same builds as others, just at less frequent intervals (once a month)?

Oh yeah I saw that as a poll, never knew they actually implemented it :p

(Probably did due to about 99% saying Team Members+)

i've no idea if they restricted them or not, but you're getting a hell of a lot of game for 10 euros even without the country road tracks (which i barely go on anyway).
