I must say I like this so far. Hopefully it will all come to fruition and will not get dumbed down for console play. AI control for rolling starts & after the finish line is starting to worry me though. Will have to see where they go with it.
The new tyre model for formula A is very sweet though, and the wet track stuff is impressive. I know there are budget concerns for them at the moment, but fingers crossed.
Is that true? How the heck are there budget concerns, they're building the game themselves, paying... themselves. Aside from licensing, that 3.75m budget is really a 2.25m budget and 1.5m of their work to be paid back as royalties, i dont believe they've contributed 1.5m, and even if they did, they'd be giving it themselves back for their work, so it makes no sense.
In an InsideSimRacing interview with Andy Tudor, he claimed when a licensing opportunity comes along, they go to the forum asking if we want x, y & z and we decide, and can object even if they think it should be added

I must have missed all those occasions where we had
any say, rather than just getting an announcement. That might be true to the 25,000€ paying people, it sure as hell isnt going to be true for the people he's talking to in a video interview though.
If they're happy to mislead people publicly in a video for a sim racing community channel in order to get people interested (aka paying), im not really sure how much we can really trust them to be honest. I wouldnt trust them on anything they claim until its in the game frankly.
Considering the C&A in CARS stands for 'Community Assisted' it really is limited to paying and testing, rather than our opinions being listened to and valued, they're building the game they planned, where paying for it and getting to test it along the way and find bugs. Thankfully its a decent game, but they're not really listening and implementing ideas like they try to make out, they're just ignored because they dont want help in those areas, just $ and bug testing

Whats a 'franchise mode'? It'll have a career mode, supposedly a deep & meaningful one at that, where you'd start at the bottom of your chosen path, like single seaters being F.Ford to F1, or whatever the touring, endurance, stock car equivalent would be.
Theres no car performance customisations, nor will there be. There no in-game currency either if thats perhaps the franchise mode (buying cars, earning money, buying better cars etc?). You can skin the cars, and their original plans included implementing decals, which you'd buy from them ($$) which you could slap on the cars, but thats probably it as far as customisation goes for cars.
