*******C.A.R.S - Community Assisted Race Sim*********

All I know is the ffb is all over the place right now. In some cars its almost non existent, other shake like crazy and others pull horribly to the side under braking.

MP works well enough though, no real latency issues at all on my end. Races are chaotic though, but a little less so than against the AI at least.

Great video, looks fun.

How much is the purchase lvl where you get the game free once released?

A full member will get you the following:-

Receive a free copy of the released game
Get an opponent named after you
Access to exclusive car(s)
Can CREATE NEW project-specific forum threads
Can READ meeting minutes
Can play WEEKLY builds

This costs 45 Euros.

I stopped at Senior. Too big a jump to the next one.

I should at least make my money back. I'm confident they will end up releasing a decent product so it should sell a decent amount to recoup its costs and a bit more.

By the time its ready, everyone who was going to buy it will have already bought it! All the profits the game is making is going into development of the game itself! :p

can any body confirm they can turn off abs and traction etc?

I must be going mental but I cannot spin a car out at all

dont forget its getting released on all the consoles aswell

you atleast get what you spent/upto a free game anyway so anything upto "free member" isnt really costing you anything over a preorder but theres the high chance you will also see a return.

we might get the capri zakspeed on friday if were lucky, hopefully it wont be senior only as it seems to be the best looking model yet.

As Ankor said, it's a multi platform release, so I think a lot of the profit will come from console sales.

Rough calcualtions of the money raised in each tool pack tier divided by the cost of each tier is approx 30,500 people have invested money in the game and around 10,000 won't be entilted to a free copy anyway.

With the PC version planned to be released on Steam, then I think a few more than 20,000 copies of the PC version will sell.

To put that into perspective, Gary's Mod has sold 1.4 million copies in it's five and a half years on Steam, that's an average of over 250,000 copies a year.

Granted that a lot of those wouldn't be at full price. But it's still impressive for an Indie game.

Project CARS is being developed by a professional team with a history of decent sales.

I wasn't being serious! After what limited time on the game iv had, I think this game really sets the bar high for racing games. It caters to the arcade and the sim and does both extremely well. Its visually brilliant and runs very smoothly for the most part on PC. That optimization will probably run down well on consoles and be a top racing game for a while to come.

For me, this already blows the competition out the water.

They are doing a fantastic job!

Have SMS ever gone into detail about the damage model? For a game with such high quality visuals it would be really distracting to see body parts just fall off on collision like somebody forgot to weld them on. I'd love to see some deformation, it'd make a world of difference.
