*******C.A.R.S - Community Assisted Race Sim*********

bmw m3 and ford gt mkIV should be ready soon.

looks like most of the detailing work for them is done now

The track with the snow got canned because some people were crying racing in snow is arcade....

would be nice if I could get to try it, have tried contacting them heard nothing back.

AFAIK they closed the registration for new members when they got fully funded last month. SMS have reduced their share in so existing members can upgrade their accounts.

I'm still not happy with the X4. The steering for me is really tight and the force feedback too strong. Lots of cars are still broken/undrivable since the SETA tyre model and some are too easy to drive

Curbs are still an issue for me also.

Multiplayer is good fun most of the time.

what wheel do you have? FFB is fine for me and even ben colins said the feedback is realistic :D

Maybe your wheel doesn't have very good ffb motors and they are clipping? if you goto the forums theres a huge thread with different FFB files or you could use the ffb tweaker and make your own.

I dont think many of the cars are undriveable anymore apart from the ones the devs arent doing anything with since seta mainly the track cars

Which is kind of funny as when they changed the Tyre Code it felt like they had just added invisible snow everywhere anyway...

I'd actually prefer it a bit 'Arcadey' as it would make it more fun for me personally, as it is now it's just too anal and is lacking in variety.

It sums it up that I don't enjoy it enough to set my wheel and stuff to play it (Too much faff and too little space) and it's quite punishing on a keyboard/Gamepad when I just want to have a blast which then makes me even less likely to bother setting up the wheel for it...

I too feel in its current state its too dull to bother setting my wheel up to play. Im hoping they start working on the Story/Career modes soon. I fire it up once or twice a month, to get the latest build, grab my Xbox360 controller, pick a car and track and do maybe a dozen laps in Time-Trial mode, check the website to see my position and then leave it for another couple of weeks.

they sure have cranked up the physics. not only have they upped the physics tick rate from 180Hz to 600Hz they have upgraded the tyre model to something much more complicated

what CPU do you have?

It was an E6400. I've grabbed a cheap Q6600 and it juuuust about runs but now my GPU is the main limit. Grabbed a cheap upgrade on that so will give it a bosh later. I still think its going to be CPU limited.

I have a fanatec club sport wheel so I doubt its anything to do with the motors. It's only the x4 that has the really narrow steering lock and strong FFB. All the other cars a fine.

The crazy oscillating of my wheel at the start of each race is beginning to annoy me as well.

I haven't played for a couple of weeks so it might be better now.

Ill fire it up now and take a look :)

Shame you can't join this now, was thinking about it, but didn't thinking my old hardware wouldn't run it, now I've got a decent machine, I can't join.

So, when is the game actually released to public lol

I'm pretty certain this is never going to be released. It just strikes me as something they just can't leave alone, constantly tweaking and fiddling with things. They need to start rubber stamping things as finished and moving on, not constantly revisiting the same thing over and over.

My concern is that it will have the Black Mesa Source problem of taking so long to actually be released it will just be average by the time it is. Theres no point in releasing the most graphically impressive race simulator of 2010, in 2014....

Haven't touched this for a very long time now, I've noticed they've stopped new 'investors' now.
