Can you crack it? - GCHQ

Then if shortlisted, you have to go through a four-month security clearance period where they check your background. (MOD is two months clearance).

The security checking time is not set in stone, it varies case to case.

I hold DV and most of my colleagues do, so I should know. :p

There are more stringent checks though for Intelligence jobs, some of my colleagues have applied and failed yet had no issues getting DV.

LOL  I'm so glad I didn't spend any time on this haha
What were you expecting from a 'Careers marketing campaign from GCHQ'? A job at the end of it?

has the kind of skill to break the code
It wasn't difficult - you just had to know what you were looking at (which every Computer Science grad in the country would). But someone who didn't know what they were looking at wouldn't have had much of a clue.

while it may not be the most difficult of tests (although I'll happily admit to not realising how to do it) for the level of candidate that they do actually want the starting pay is low, and it's a relatively poor overall package. That said the only person I know who works there has been there for a good few years with very few complaints.

What ridiculous job title / skills :p

The Bar said:
"So, what do you do for a living?"
"I AM DISCIPLINE CYBER GRADE GC10"
".....erm...errrm, do you have any pets?"
"yeah, two dogs!"

Not really sure who talks about pets at a bar, mind. Maybe they are made for each other.
