The games that I play regularly I can, but those are somewhat old titles. Metro 2033 really brought my machine to its knees and that was played on low at native 1080p resolution, still looked gorgeous mind.
Nope.
I'm currently on pentium 4 and Nvidia 6800, not doing too badly considering.
On the orange box games, I can get pretty close to full settings on 1280x1024 while still maintaining 30fps, which can drop to 10 during intense scenes
Nowadays the average I expect from a game is high with some on medium, and the bells and whistles turned off (AO, Physx), AA off or on x2/x4, and at 1920x1200. That's with recent games. I'm very happy with that considering my card is 2 years old, it's lasting well.
My samsung 22inch 1080p monitor is the best and worst upgrade I've ever bought due to the same reason lol.
I went from a 17inch tft where my 8800GT could play everything really well, even crysis then gave it over twice the amount of pixels to play with and had to upgrade my entire PC to handle it
I can run pretty much everything at max settings 1080p. Only one i have trouble with is Burnout paradise if i enable something to do with enhancing 3d? the game chuggs like crazy........
