Can YOU max out every game?

On a PC of course you would notice the difference. It's only on television where it's much less noticable. :confused:
 
Not really, but I get fine performance at native 2048x1152, will put another 5770 in when I can and that should play everything really well for a while.
 
It's funny. Even the people say yes then go on to say "apart from Metro and Crysis".

So the question "Can YOU max out every game?" should be answered "no".
 
No, on my 4870 @ 1920x1200 for the more recent intensive games (and crysis) I usually have to turn one setting down to maintain a good framerate (40-60+). for example In BC2 I have everything max except HSAO is off, in starcraft 2 I have shaders down on 'high' but everything else up, GTA4 everything can be up but I set the distance/vehicle density etc to around 30 or something, Mafia 2 I just turn AA off, Metro I just use the 'High' config... and so on :)

The not so new and less heavy games run fine with everything max, like CoD:MW2 (80-100fps in MP), Mass effect 2(constant 60+), Street fighter 4(60+), Grid(50-60+) etc.

To be honest. In theory most people on here could max out crysis. They'd just get single digit FPS. When they say apart from Crysis, I think that people are saying that they play all games on max except for crysis, even though it's theoretically possible
 
Simple answer is on I can't. Metro 2033 is one game I simply cannot max out, and need to knock the detail and res down a little to obtain smooth gameplay.

To be honest, I always say - provided I can run max at 720p with full AA I've at least got the consoles licked.. lol
 
At native resolution (1280x1024) my current PC (E6700, 8800GTS, 2GB RAM) can't run some things at full. Empire: Total War springs to mind, and anything that has DX10 features as I'm only on XP at the moment.

Hopefully once my new rig is built that will change :)
 
Nah, graphics card holding me back in some games. As long as my racing games and all UT3-based games run at 60 fps at native res and GTA around 45-ish i am ok. I'm pleased and not upgrading in 2010.
 
Every game i have i can max out. Only have a laptop with ati 4850 1440x900 res as well. Though newest games i have are Dragon Age Origins, Sins of a Solar Empire, Risen, Anno 1404.
 
Yes, I can max out every game, bar crysis on my 1680x1050 monitor. Less games when I go eyefinity.
 
I'm getting to the point where I'm not able to. 1680x1050 with a 4870x2 and a q6600 at 3.4Ghz. I suppose the card is old a long time now so this performance is to be expected. Right? Mafia 2 would average 22fps on the benchmark (fine for most of it and then would go down to 18fps or so in the firey bits of the demo level.
