Canadian Grand Prix 2011, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve - Race 7/19

Who the **** is managing Hamilton? Where was he? Has anyone actually seen him turn up at any grand prix's yet to perform mind management for Hamilton!?

What I thought was interesting is that his dad went with him to the stewards in Monaco... wasn't publicised much in the press but it is true.

This is a very good point.

Isn't Simon Fuller or somebody of that ilk managing him? My understanding is that his manager is only dealing with the media side of things...thats it.

Great Champions drive from Jonson. Drivers just need to learn how to exploit DRS properly MS could well have beaten Webber, the trick is to not be the car ahead coming to the DRS detection line he should have let Webber get his nose ahead coming to the Detection line then he would have been the one with DRS down the back straight.

Just a quick question, if the ban on blown diffusers relates to the rules about adjustable aerodynamics, what then, governs the allowance of DRS?

Vettel/Button

We knew Seb would crack sooner or later. I don't think it would've mattered who was pressurising him.

Boy oh Boy did I scream !!

Same here. I think it was the first time I did this, for a very long time.

I have nothing against Button, but I don't like his "safe" approach. Yesterday, he drove like a racer and I loved every minute of it. Especially, when he finally passed Vettel.

I only wish Button could drive hard, like he did yesterday, all the time. If he did, I think he could outscore Hamilton, over a full season. Sadly, I think yesterday's performance was a one-off.

Also, notice, that Button has won 3 races for McLaren. All 3 races have been in wet/damp conditions (correct me if I am wrong). Is this a coincidence...I think not.

I just think that some teams need to be more confident in the way they approach the race. Ferrari and McLaren seem to assume that RBR are the fastest car (in the race), when this no longer appears to be the case. I think Vettel (and his luck) is making that car look better than it actually is. In qualifying, it is the class of the field, but in race trim Alonso and Hamilton can complete a race distance, faster than him, providing they don't over drive their cars.

Sure, I bet you were watching it with fifty people in a pub, not one of them laughed and they all put their palms to their cheeks and gasped yeah?

You're being far too dramatic. It was a safety car situation, the marshalls at the corner had the yellow and red striped flags out, there was plenty of reaction time around the corner, and the cars were pootling along.

You're a little bit of an idiot, aren't you. I guess you missed the car that came round and locked up 4 tyres when it saw someone lying on the ground.

The ban on off throttle EBD's does not relate the any adjustable aerodynamic rules. And DRS is seperate from the adjustable Aero rules. Cars are not allowed any flexible or driver controlled aero devices, except for the DRS wing flap which has its own regulations around dimensions and use.

The Mrs wasn't impressed that I'd been watching the race since 5pm.. and she wanted to sleep at 10pm, so she ended up watching it in bed with me until the race interviews :D

She did admit that the 'end' was the exciting part of the race lol. I lost my self control when Jenson drove past vettel though, I shouted 'Yessssssssss' very loudly as her dad was sleeping next door :o

That's what I meant, sorry. The BD is classed as a flexible / controlled aero device.

It was clear to me that the Marshall was not going to get hit.... It was on a straight so drivers could see what was in front of them well enough, under a yellow flag and F1 cars can now break from like 100mph down to 0 in about 1 second :p

Not when it is wet and the brakes/tyres are cold.

Erm.. Wow.

I'm still lost for words at how good that drive by JB was, that's utterly ridiculous to sit here thinking he's just won that race having pitted FIVE times and had a drive through penalty. He's so good in those conditions, calls it spot on every time. I don't like McLaren but my god that was something special, something to savour right there. One of the best races I've ever seen that's for sure.

Hamilton getting what he deserved for barging everyone out the way in Monaco and getting off scot free, just desserts my friend, suck it up. :D:D

Had to admit, I'd have LOVED to see Schumacher or Kobayashi win it, but that was probably asking a bit much. Sadly, Borelencia next.. think we can give up any hope of it being as good as Canada.

Stirling Moss said he goes "a bit too far" as well. He's being found out, he's not the golden boy everyone thought he was in 2008, he's being exposed as a petulant little battering ram and he can't take losing. For someone to cause THAT MANY collisions already is just wrong. Get into BTCC lad, F1 isn't for you :D

(From Turkey 2010 when the Red Bulls collided) HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHhahahahahhahahahHA

Guess what.. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA :)

Meh, I would rather a grid full of Hamiltons over any other driver. At least he has a go and entertains us - most of the replays in the rain delay were of Hami. He doesn't always get it right, but it is great to watch and I hope he never changes.

I do agree to an extent, but he comes across as too desperate sometimes. He just doesn't pick the correct time to get past someone and he's paying the price big time for it. Yes, yesterday's was a racing incident and nothing more, but his on-track attitude is just so poor. Entertaining maybe, but it's going to damage his reputation a lot.

I thought Hamilton handled it fine. I think it was a 50/50 racing incident. Helmet off straight away, sure, but he wasn't shouting "it wasn't my fault". At least he didn't make hand gestures and facial expressions like Vettel did after crashing into his team mate last year?

TBH he looked more bemused about the fact his team told him to retire even though the car looked like all it needed was a pit stop. Though turned out in the end that it was terminal damage.
