Canadian Grand Prix 2012, Montréal - Race 7/20

No.

He said that tyre wear was not the problem with the Pirellis in general, it was the drop in performance as they wore. You could do almost the whole race on a set, but would be massively off the pace.

There was no specifics on tyre wear specifically at Canada.

He was speaking about Canada

Nico will be loving that.
He will get to hammer his team-mate again in the points standings next year.
No driver can consistently take a beating and keep their job, unless their surname starts with 'Schu' and ends in 'macher'. ;)

I've just checked the title standings and the only drivers below MSc are the 6 drivers who drive for the "newish" teams, whose cars are about 2s/lap slower than most other cars.

At what point is MSc going to be given the boot? Perhaps scoring 2 points from 6 races isn't low enough. Is he not feeling humiliated?

sometimes i wonder if you realise what you are typing.... so much hate , so much troll

all schumachers fault he only has 2 points because you invent your own luck lol ..... lol..... just lol...

mechanical failures are luck lol....

Do you actually watch races or just look at the results afterwards?

If you read my earlier post I state very clearly that MSc is very unlucky this season and by right should not be so far behind Nico. However, when you hire a driver, you are also hiring his luck. Its part of the package.

At some point, a team/employer has to call time.

The same goes in football. Man Utd paid big money for Hargreaves. The guy was very unlucky with injuries. A great footballer - but very unlucky. In the end, they let him walk for free. Man City also ended up doing the same.

Luck has to be a factor in every sportsman's make-up and you cannot ignore this. In F1, the points standings take into account "luck" as well as skill, as well as car performance.

This is why the best way to tell just how good an overall package is (driver/car/team) is to look at his points standings.

This is why all drivers aim to win the title race, NOT finish bottom of the title race, having got 1 pole and ran in leading positions before colliding or breaking down. [though perhaps Mr Men would be content to on 2 points, after 6 races?]

[though perhaps Mr Men would be content to on 2 points, after 6 races?]

And perhaps Ross and Mercedes too since they realise the points are not a true reflection on how Michael is performing, but anyone can see he is driving well and is not being dominated pace wise by Nico.

Not quite sure why you think they hire luck as well as a driver, totally bizarre.

Mechanical failures are luck.
A driver, in this day and age, can do very little to increase/decrease the chances of mechanical failure. If he is using his car too hard, his engineers will instruct him to change his car settings or driving style. If the car still breaks (or perhaps the driver gets a puncture), he can't be held responsible. It can only be put down to bad luck.

Some drivers are lucky. Some aren't.

And there is no hatred towards MSc. Unless you classify the statement below as hatred:

MSc, IMO is the most complete driver in F1, by far. Yes, by far.

And perhaps Ross and Mercedes too ...

Well, they would hardly come out and say, "MSc is scoring very few points and if he doesnt start scoring points, he will be replaced".

One point about MSc is that he he is very attractive to sponsors and that may be a key reason why they want MSc to remain.

Nico will perform on track.
MSc will perform off-track.

Perhaps they are happy with that arrangement. Who knows...

Yeah Jenson took Alonso out :D but that was last year.

Yeah, Button was ramming anyone who didn't move out of his way (I believe PDLR among others were also a victim of this tactic). IIRC he was given a drive-through or two during the race.

Regardless of that, Button and Schumacher (as well as Red Bull) were clearly faster when it counted. In fact, Massa was struggling to outpace Kobayashi's Sauber. I'm not convinced Alonso would have won either from what little I saw of him.

Well no he wouldn't as he knows the points are not a reflection on how MS is performing, unlike what you are trying to suggest.

If MS was not performing then Ross would say so, as he did already when MS came back.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quality_control

mercedes need to improve it or luck into why its always michaels car.

if a company sells 100 cookers and 10 are faulty they dont say "oh its bad luck"

the same as if your car breaks down its not because of "bad luck" thats just ridiculous

So much bitching, jesus.

no its poor quality control or poor materials

*sigh*

Yes, its due to a fault somewhere that A gearbox goes pop.

But its BAD LUCK that it happened to the one in Schumachers car and not Rosbergs.

Ergo, Schumacher is the victim of bad luck. Unless your are suggesting that Mercedes are deliberately putting duff gearboxes in Schumachers car?

Hamilton fastest in both sessions today.
He is stating his intent.
Could he win this?
Are we going to have a 7th different winner in 7 races?
