Canadian Grand Prix 2012, Montréal - Race 7/20

Indeed.

I think in one lap Perez took out 3.5s, from Alonso. I don't think Ferrari expected that sort of dramatic drop-off. But this is the conundrum, as shown today, Vettel and Ferrari do not yet understand their tyres and lack the ability to reliably predict their performance/longevity.

And what about MSc. By far the unluckiest driver currently in F1. He certainly used up all his luck in his first career.

impressive considering both only did 1 stop.

BTW, where is FrankJH? He is an avid Button fan. I want to hear his defence on Button's consistently average/poor performances.
:p

This week it was the queen's diamond jubilee, Mclaren GT3 done well and Lewis wins canada..AWESOME week....

Isn't this Perez's 2nd year?
In his debut (race) last year, he was the only driver to successfully pit once, while everybody else had to make 2 pitstops. That is the point we knew that Perez is very good at nursing his tyres (which is becoming more and more crucial in F1, these days).

You're completely right. I got confused as this is his first Canadian GP.

Its not random, its close.

You need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Looking at a single race result and claiming its all to random is like those people who claim Global Warming based on temperatures from the last 10 years...

The F1 WDC is awarded for results over 20 races, not 1.

Hamilton - 88
Alonso - 86
Vettel - 85
Webber - 79

TOTAL = 338

7 Races x top 4 points = 490

They have collected 69% of those points available and thats why they are at the top. If Alonso and Vettel didn't screw up their strategy then that would be higher today.
