Canadian Grand Prix 2012, Montréal - Race 7/20

Have read a few complaining that all radio messages should be in English, sod that I would speak klingon to my race engineer to stop others eaves dropping.

Yep. They banned the encription so the teams have to find other ways. I'd much rather have Spanish or Italian radio which we have to figure out than no radio at all.

Also, did anyone else notice Hamilton coming on the radio and asking about sector times and what he needed to do, and thinking pro-actively and positively about the race ahead. Thats something we never heard from him last year.

A very real and honest answer from Ron on the tires and I agree 100% with him.

Cutting EJ's headphone cable was a good one. Should have been the microphone cable though. ;)

He really needs to take control back of the racing team though.

Agree

Why can't every race be a Montreal or spa? I am serious, if they could build good tracks then why not now? Seems retarded!

Lotus really do need the warm! Bring on the summer! Shame Kimi had some bad luck, could have easily been a bigger points haul!

Great race. That's the kind of F1 I want to see - absolute balls to the wall sprint racing for as many laps as your car and tyres can take it. Save all this namby-pamby fuel and tyre saving shenanegans for GT and Endurance racing.

To all those criticising DRS, whilst it may not be the best way to solve F1s problems (which less reliance on aero downforce and more mechanical grip would IMO) it's the best stop gap solution until the 2014 regs come in.

Would you rather have races more akin to Imola 2006, where Alonso was stuck behind Schumacher for 3/4 of the race, despite being around 1sec per lap quicker?

So, was Button running a different rear suspension setup, Sam Michael mentioned the rear end working differently for Hamilton and Button and then Ron Dennis said that he would not have run the suspension setup that Button had today.

At a guess I would say Button would be running a setup designed to get more heat in the tyres to get him more rear grip.

Imola =! Canada for passing opportunities though. Besides, it was MS, he can make his car as wide as it needs to be. It's not like it wasn't a fight.
