Canadian Grand Prix 2014, Montréal - Race 7/19

Would be funny as hell if Rosberg was 49 points up going into the last race and has his only DNF of the season handing Hamilton the title. Forum would go into meltdown!! :p

Would be a nice bit of justice :P.

I'd rather see them battle it out fair and square though, the more DNFs and luck that comes into it the less actual racing we get to see, and the less we get to see who is actually the better driver.

According to Williams head of vehicle performance Rob Smedley, Felipe Massa's impact with the wall was also 27G.

"Felipe Massa has been checked out in the medical centre and doesn't seem to be having many problems," he says. "There was 27G in the car so it was a high impact and he has now gone for precautionary checks. He is fairly miffed at the moment.

"With Felipe, we were not looking too bad. We were on for chasing Sergio Perez which would have got us up to fourth but we couldn't get at the Red Bulls. We had some problems with Valterri Bottas.

"You look back at what you have done badly and we will make sure we don't do it again. We will pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off. We have a good car and are heading in the right direction."
27G impact, ouch, sounds ok though.

Because its not specifically set out in the rules that he gained enough to make a difference in that particular situation

I'm not really sure what your trying to say there, but it sounds like you think there should be defined amounts of time that qualify as having gained an advantage? Which there isn't.

Dunno how he didn't get a penalty for setting the fastest lap of the race (and keeping a position) buy straightlining a chicane.

Still I'm not really salty about it as Ham likely would have had the same brake issue out in front anyway.

I'm actually a little discusted at the Williams PR guys. Yes posting a pic of Massa to show he's OK is great, but did they really have to make him wear the sponsor watch in it? Mixing their priorities a bit.
