I still don't understand why Vettel reacted the way he did.

It's understandable if he did one of the things he did (like storm off to the motor home) but it went from an emotional reaction to a continued effort and a statement.
Yes it was all very bizarre and the lack of correct reaction from sky also bizarre.

Who are they going to promote though? Kvyat seems unlikely, given the manner of his RBR exit, and Albon has been not much more than steady. They do have a good deal of granular data available though. Promote Buemi? Go back to JEV and say sorry?

A distant 8th, beaten by both Renaults. I doubt he'll be keeping his seat through this season.

Thanks. Yeah, I saw the final position despite him starting 5th. Didn't see any explanation on how he ended up being beaten by both Renaults. Verstappen also managed to totally outperform him yet again.

Because the truth is Mercedes are stronger at downforce tracks but Ferrari are stronger at power tracks. This was where they should have been finishing 1-2 and starting to claw back on Mercedes, and with 5-6 other tracks at least that favour power, and updates, they could have been in a fight come the end of the season, but once again another huge Vettel mistake and poor decision has led to Vettel throwing away another win. Two seasons in a row Vettel was within a few points or had a lead when Vettel mistakes allowed Hamilton to sail off into the distance.

Vettel has managed to turn another mistake, another lost win and ever increasing Ferrari disappointment into him into "the win was stolen from me, I'm the victim" instead. He changed the narrative and even has thousands of fans saying F1 is dead, unfair penalties, it's changed, not the F1 I love. Senna, Lauda, Prost, they all got penalties, Senna had a title taken away (in effect) absolutely unfairly. This penalty was absolutely fair with some dangerous driving after another massive mistake.

Instead of a fanbase being utterly fed up with Seb and talking about how Ferrari need to get rid of him, need to start favouring Leclerc now, they are defending Ferrari and saying F1 is to blame for a mistake and choices Seb made.

I personally think that means Seb is further compounding another massive mistake and could be considered to be bringing the sport into disrepute. He's literally attacking F1 and causing a reaction where lots of fans are saying why bother watching, to absolve himself of a mistake. Lost an awful lot of respect for Vettel this weekend as a person. Driving wise, he's been a guy who buckles under the pressure badly for a while, but the reaction to it has been pathetic.

Even with clear evidence and facts that backs the penalty, people here still refuse to believe it?

Are they calling FIA and the cctv and telemetrics data etc fake information? Based on what?

Where is your counter argument to say FIA and its data is wrong? Where is your data that backs up the fact that he never had control and re-entered the track safely? i mean wow!!! i do wonder sometimes here on some people.

Some here including my real life friends are too stubborn and blind to see the truth. its sad really
I haven’t denied the penalty since the FIA said they had all data backing up their decision have I?

I’m arguing about the claims that he was deliberately trying to put Hamilton into the wall because that is clearly horse ****.

Yes, I am sure they 'forgot'. Haha.

I have lost a lot of respect for Brundle in all this. I mean -

I don't believe a penalty was due, but even so they could have investigated it after the race with the benefit of more time and data, and after speaking with both drivers.

Except for every single time when they blast decisions made after the race. The whole article is full of so much nonsense.

That was my feeling too. Seb has come out of this unscathed really and as you said, has people believing he is a victim. Everyone is losing their mind over the penalty but hardly any one is addressing the fact that yet anther error by Vettel is the reason why he was in a position to be scrutinised.

Some of the excuses I've been reading on reddit today have been brilliant. The sort of mental gymnastics that Simone Biles would be proud of. My favorite was along the lines of "It was snap understeer which he wasn't expecting so it wasn't his fault". Literally hundreds of people are arguing that it wasn't driver error!

All deluded.

It's the cars fault! it became sentient on that lap! I don't even buy the dirty air excuse.

I feel bad for Vettel as he seems like a nice chap but time and time again he proves he just isn't on Hamilton's level. Whenever he see's him near him on track some stupid stuff happens

I don’t buy the dirty air excuse either because Hamilton was in vettels dirty air for the entire race and suffered only a few lockups on an unloaded tyre. Also, Vettel is a four time world champion. He just out braked himself - we’ve never seen that before (not)!

I can’t decide whether I feel bad for him or not. He acted like a complete clown and it was his own mistake.

Edit: some of this is pretty funny.
