Russell radio - Yeah sorry about that. I wanted to go for it.

Pit - We are P8

Russell - Yeah.... copy that.... I didn't want to settle for P4, P5, P6. I wanted to go for it.

Wolff - George, Strong call. Tomorrow.

That was Sainz's chance.
If we've learnt much from this season so far I'd say it's Carlos sadly isn't world championship material. Has had a race winning package under him all season and has spurned every winning opportunity he's had mostly with unforced errors at clutch moments.

Rear gunner is about his level I feel.

Easy to say but then you can say that about Lewis this year being out qualified by George, but no one doubts Lewis

Not if what's going around about more experiments being done on Lewis car because being the more experienced driver and nothing working and making things worse

And Russell being the new driver and taking more linear approach

Looking at Sainz seems its unforced driving errors not being able to handle the pressure

Lol what exactly are you trying to compare? Lewis had a world championship car under him and won 7/8 world titles with it. Sainz has won none and more importantly with a fast car under him - so far is proving he can’t pull out the performances when it counts. It’s not the same thing.

I missed quaili, sounds like Max will run away with it unless Alonso gets up to funny business in the first lap or so.

Alonso P2 is great, and fair play to George for giving the slicks a go.

Rain always levels the field with the cars where driver is important. It showed just how bad Latiffi is that his team mate out qualified him by two seconds. It still amazes me he still has a drive.

The fact Alonso who will be 41 next month can get P2 shows the quality on the grid these days.
