Also i did read the article and understand that it was the students that got upset, however that doesn't change that the Chinese word for "That" sounds nothing like the N-Word. If anything, after having listened to what the Chinese word for "That" actually sounds like, it seems that's nothing more than an excuse, a very weak one at that as it would take less than 1min to verify.

This obviously depends on the dialect, but in Cantonese the word they are referring to is pronounced Nee Gaw.

Yea, having looked into it further it seems saying that's how it's said in Chinese would be wrong and it's probably down to regional variations, i thought it was Mandarin but not knowing much, if anything, about the Chinese language I'm happy to give way to more authoritative sources. :)

And yet you were happy to step and and claim that disproving the professor's statement was as simple as a quick 30 second Google search. And you then claimed that the other poster was an idiot for not verifying something you thought was easily verified. And then went on to accuse the professor of serious misconduct, based on your 30s Google.

Disproving the professor's statement was a simple Google translate, you don't have to prove what something is to know what it isn't, i know what I'm eating right now isn't an apple, i don't need to know what I'm actually eating to know it's not an apple. :rolleyes:

I also didn't claim the other poster was an idiot, i said "Don't you think it would maybe be a good idea to double check what the article claims before assuming it's true", if you think saying that is calling someone an idiot you seriously need to check yourself.

I also didn't "accuse the professor of serious misconduct", maybe you'd like to quote me doing so, or is this another one of those occasions were someone totally ignores what's written and makes something up in their head?

Considering deuse is known for posting utter nonsense its wise to take anything he posts with a bucket full of salt. I lost count of the times he'd post something in SC with comment for it to be contradicted in the article he linked. Its like he hadn't even bothered to read what he'd linked.
