Captain Marvel (2019)

What is wrong with some men? We live in a patriarchal society, sorry world and when a women makes a comment that 90% of the people who are interviewing her are white men they freak out and start acting like ********** (I do hate that expression but it really does fit here). Is she wrong? That number is ridiculous. There aren't equally talented female and or other ethnicities desperately wanting work in entertainment journalism? I can't see anything wrong with her comments and find it hilarious how easily offended the "stronger" sex is by such a comment. Pull yourself together ffs or go get a cuddle off mummy and she'll make it all better.

As for the movie I've read a few user reviews and it might be ***** or it might scrape by and be ok like some of the other Marvel movies. Will wait and see.

Indeed, one of the draw backs of the internet I think. People that would ordinarily have gotten a little perturbed at what she's said (or how she looked in a teaser) but then leave it there get into an argument with folk who see no harm in it or don't get the fuss. They get backed up by others who think the same and you get an echo chamber where they seem to get themselves more and more wound up and polarised. Mean while everyone else looks on bemused wondering why they're getting so irate at a woman not smiling in a teaser that she had no part in the making of.
In the end they're actually hoping the movie sucks as that might validate their position - I'll give you a clue, it doesn't.

Same with the Rey stuff in TLJ - I really dislike that movie because it's a pile of dung with a stupid stupid script, not because there's a female lead who's good with the force.

On the internet effect - get the same stuff with Brexit/Trump/whatever the outrage of the day is. Internet seems to polarise when you think it shouldn't as it gives folks access to all view points. Instead they just absorb the stuff that backs up their views and builds on it till you think Donald J Trump, that pseudo reality tv businessman that sometimes turned up on wwe (who, when I was young I genuinely thought was a spoof character like Dame Edna) is a suitable president for the most powerful country in the world.
 
Neither of which is why the majority of people, who don't want to see this film, don't like her as a person I would suggest.

Most decent balanced reviews all say the best things are Sam L Jackson's age reversal, Sam L Jackson's role in the film, the cat, Ben Mendleson and that Bries performance is wooden.

So basically what was expected, hopefully the mutants will be absorbed into the MCU now Disney is getting the rights back, maybe we can see rogue absorb captain marvels abilities and they can kill her off. I'm sure Brie can pull off a lifeless corpse for the takeover.
 
After seeing my post quoted I'm left wondering why sn0wflakes is a swear word and given the ************ treatment? It is ridiculously over used today but is it really offensive?

Yup

Tickets booked for the gallery at 00:01, partly because brother in law is a huge comic book fan and has been waiting for this for ages, and partly because it's the only time in the next week or two that we know everyone in the group can make it ;) (even if some may be a little tired at work tomorrow).
 
Glad I am not the only one mad enough to see it tonight. Weirdly it is the easiest time to pop and see it with my daughter as she isn't at college and my wife and son are away until tomorrow afternoon. I can get a couple of extra hours in the morning and hopefully stay awake through the film :p.
