*** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

is G3 scratch remover any good? Some **** scratched both doors from trying to fit in a space that wasn't a space. I've polished most of it out but there's still a big scratch down the side. I've heard good things about G3.

Would need to see a picture of the scratch up close to say.

G3 is ultimately just a polishing compound. If it’s down to the primer, no polishing will fix it.

G3 will only really work if it’s in the clear coat.

i have G3, also used T-Cut colour fast and Autoglym super resin polish

sounds like none of those will get it out, maybe too deep, take a photo an upload it so we can maybe help some more

Bottle of this turned up in the post today, looking forward to seeing how it compares with AG Polar Seal.

I find with Polar Seal if you use it and get it on the windscreen, despite careful rinsing and drying off it can leave a slight film and marks which are very visible during night driving. Anyone had any experience in relation to using Koch Chemie PW on glass/windscreens? Almost all the videos I see on YouTube with apparently professional detailers using PW, show them coating the entire car in it - windscreen included

You'll like this. Still got a bottle from a few years ago and quick and easy application and results.

Came across Koch Chemie - PW on Instagram Reels, certainly something I’d like to pick up along with Koch Chemie - Green Star.

I'd be interested in hearing how you get on with this on the windscreen, especially at night, as I get the same thing from other spray sealants.

I think to begin with, I'll maybe try it on the rear and side glass and keep it away from the windscreen where the wipers sweep but perhaps apply it a little bit to the lower and side edges......just in case

whilst on the subject of windscreen coatings

i applied Glaco something

when i get a film on the screen (more visible during early mornings in winter)

you could see squares over the entire windscreen

pics don't really show it, but you can just about make out some of the squares

when car is fully warmed up , in summer you cant see it at all

after how ever long, its now finally gone (even after the coating had weakened)

Is it too cold to clean the car do we think? I'm dying to clean mine, its filthy but its so cold!

At this time of year it's not the cold that annoys me, it's the fact that you can spend an hour or two doing a three stage wash and get the car looking gleaming on your driveway, but drive it on the filthy, greasy roads for a few miles and it's back to looking filthy again!

Cold I can deal with but the fear of waking up to an ice rink is a concern :p

Especially if the elderly neighbours go flying as we have some sort of double invisible lined shared driveway.

However, layer up, rubber glove up, warm water and get on with it

Valid point, this time of year when it’s dry and cold but lots of salt and grime on the roads I tend to focus my efforts on keeping the interior imaculate :)
