£30 for a bucket and grit guard is a lot of money, most of those ones come with a gamma seal lid (helpful for transportation)
but just get the cheapest bucket and grit guard for well under half that

My missus gets these big 10 litre buckets from work as she works in a lab. I cut the lid into a smaller size so it fits inside and drilled a load of holes in it. £30 for a wash bucket is mad.

so seems the better quality (shaving) foam you can get from a car wash comes from them using compressed air to create the foam, versus a pressure washer setup;
hmmh - a hand pump bottle could generate more effective foam for tougher to clean wheels.

currently thinking about getting one of these :

i don't have a polisher though, but i think id use it looks like the best one out there really

anyone else got something like this ?

as i go out to my car i take so much stuff with me if I'm doing interior and exterior, and the pressure washer so i think it would be handy to carry all rather than in and out of the house all the time

Foam isn't really what you want, excessive foam usually comes from over aerating which means less dwell time as it'll dry quicker.

There's a good video by Supercharged Lama on YouTube who reviews the new MJJC V3.0 S - that cannon produces excessive foam and it's really clear that it a) falls off the panels quickly which means less dwell time and b) shows clear signs of drying out.

In my experience I found this to be the case whereby a hand pump bottle could generated a more effective foam for tougher to clean wheels and even caked on panels on the car.

I’m sure I’ve said this before but is snow foam pretty crap? Or am I doing something wrong? I apply it using a pressure washer, let it sit for between 5 and 10 minutes, wash it off and there’s still plenty of dirt left behind. I’m sure the best thing to do is go over the snow foam with a sponge to lift the dirt off but I though whole point of snow foam was that you didn’t need to do this?

I just use it as a prewash. Tried a few including BH Touchless and Autofoam and they remove a lot but still needs a wash after to look clean.

It is really there to just help remove most of the dirt and to reduce swirling when doing a touch wash. In the summer you could most likely get away with just a foam to remove dust if you have well prepped and protected paint.

Which pre wash out of interest?

And what’s peoples go for tyre dressing? My turtle wax is nearly empty
I was saying I use snowfoam as a prewash, it never gets the car clean enough on it's own.

Using BH Touchless at the moment, trying using it with a handsprayer as it's a lot more economical.

All clean! Son wanted to wash his car

Afternoon!

Has anyone found a good “soft” replacement hose for the Karcher K series? I’m getting so frustrated with it not wanting to unwind and the kinks/knots! Trying to find a suitable soft hose is proving tricky

I bought one from qwashers on ebay, not cheap. But has been worth it for me, the original hose was infuriating to use.

Q Washers

It also has ends you can unscrew to replace if it gets damaged or you need to use the hose with a different machine.
