*** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

That's odd because I find Polar blast does a great job. I moved to it from Valet Pro foam that was raved about (but I thought was absolute crap) and haven't looked back.

Couldn’t say as I’ve never used it, but when I tried auto foam from polar blast, I was surprised at the superior cleaning power. Then when I tried touchless I was surprised again how effective it is at removing that top layer of grime build up
 
I’ve got a few scratches from brambles and twigs after navigating the back lanes of Lancastershire today after the m6 closures.
Best product to get this out? I live in a flat, and only have access to the Tesco jetwash!

I would just clean car, then go over that scatch area with something like a Polish or I use G3 scratch remover

Remember your not getting the scratches out your lowering your clear coat to to make it level

So less Polish the better

As i now changed over the diy detail rinseless wash, i am no longer using my infinity wax waterless wash , i have 4.5L left if anyone wants it ? i will not post it, come and collect or i can drive and deliver (see my location under my name)

On how it used to be done...
Not a bad watch on keeping things super simple.


With so many options on the market it was good to see a walk through on how simple you can actually make it all.
Decent shampoo, hose, apc for some extra dirty bits, couple of buckets and a good mitt.

I definitely see where you are coming from. Did a trial of the basic bits I had to do a hose wash over the weekend albeit a week after a pressure wash to see how efficient it was. It was quicker and more efficient when minimised the steps and got a good outcome still.

I notice you got the small bottle of all clean. Will that be diluted? Will it last a while? So used to have 5L BH Autofoam and Surfex HD and it seems that product would replace it. Also looking at the Garage Therapy line and rinseless but the DIY stuff just seems so much easier to understand and get a routine sorted.

I assume you won't be using any more than Rinseless, all clean or iron remover time to time on the wheels?

Ceramic gloss would then replace my Koch-Chemie Pw ProtectorWax but again can't make out if that bottle is enough? I was used to mixing 30ml into a 1 litre bottle and cover the cars with it but this seems spray panel and wipe over.
 
Clever detailing gurus............any idea what this is and how I can get rid of it? G21 M340i nearside rear shadowline door/window trim. Looks like chemical damage to me, maybe? Snow foam or wash etc allowed to bake on for longer than it should?

I use AG Polar Blast, Polar Wash and then usually finish off with Koch Chemie Protector Wax. I'm usually very careful about application and don't leave any of the products to dwell too long. And I always towel dry the car when I'm done, including those black trim parts. I've tried 3M Finesse-It on it and it didn't do much to remove it.

Looks like acid etching from the rain to me, or calcium (limescale).



I’ve had it on all cars with black trim.



Does it disappear when you run water over it?
