what's a good choice for wheel cleaning ? looking at the likes of below V
There are several years of baked on dirt inside these alloys which I will probably remove from the car to clean, I don't think I want anything acid/alkali,
which seems to be accompanied by requirement to neutralize and wash it off rapidly;
identifying a value for money product with the varying levels of dilution required is difficult too

I use this Williams stuff and it's superb:

The best wheel cleaner I've ever used. I used to use the bilbery (which I didn't dilute) all the time before I was recommended this stuff. I don't dilute it because it's cheap enough. I do two cars a week and it's lasts me 12-18 months.

yes it did look a good deal ... thought i'd go for a small quantity of stuff /bh auto wheel, with some acid for iron bit's initially and then move to Williams or BH HD.

Guys, I've not had leather seats since my Rover 25! Is glipton liquid leather still decent?
Do you have real leather or basic pleather like I've had in bmw and now audi .... it's got a plastic coat and paying additional pounds for something that hides that fact is a con ...
my amazon review of what I re-bought https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-reviews/R3TSET7M5WOSNP?ref=pf_ov_at_pdctrvw_srp

It's a Mustang so I suspect plastic! I've not had a proper inspection tbh.
I find these days unless someone specs the expensive optional extra leather. It's like plastic. Though... Not as bad as my old ford escort was.

My 335d is the first car I've had with leather seats and on a recommendation to someone else (possibly on this very forum) I bought Dr Leather Advance Leather Cleaning Wipes. I especially like them for cleaning the steering wheel as they tend to help keep the original finish. I also have AutoGlym leather cleaner, but I tend to only use that if I get caught short on the cleaning wipes. If you eat/drink in the car or have kids that are accident prone then you might want something that packs a bigger punch I suppose, but it is only ever usually me in the 335d so the only thing that usually gets really grubby is the rubber floor mat in autumn and winter.

I resisted the urge to take advantage of any Black Friday deals, although I would really like a basic Nilfisk or Ava pressure washer, maybe I'll have another look when the Boxing Day or New Year sales are on.

Currently psyching myself up to clean the car in 50MPH+ winds, fortunately there doesn't seem to be too much rain to contend with.

BH Autowheel is fantastic but all of the detailer “Branded” versions tend to be quite expensive for 500 to 1000ML.

I once took a punt on 5Litres of Turtle Wax Redline for £25 (Iron Fall Out based Wheel Cleaner) which I think is fantastic, performs extremely well and is far better value for money.

First order 15% Off Code always pops up, I think 20% Sitewide discount is available at the moment too.

Also can be had from Rainforest for £25

At 5L for £20 - I’d recommend Turtlewax Redline as a fall out based wheel cleaner.

Does a cracking job for the money, if you think other alternatives are usually £12-17 per 500/1000ML.

Redline with a layer of foam over the top at work.

Only a weeks worth of brake dust but has removed stubborn rusted on deposits, being gloss back barrels I find deposits are ridiculously noticeable when the sun is beaming down on them.

(BH 1L auto-wheel/£12 gives me a free spray bottle too ... that market is a minefield )
I'll take a picture of my audi wheels later ... but like below example from thread (sorry), when you look in behind the laquered front its grey/black on the unprotected? alloy ,
mechanical abrasion with a cloth on the bits I could reach made little impact, so think wheels need to come of the car to get them on the programme.

thought this comment on snow cannon comaprisons (I am also in the market for) was interesting
It definitely makes a difference, many foams are discarded or described as rubbish when a lot if the time, the pressure washer has insufficient power to produce foam as well as not rinse the dirt of. Also, the jets on these cannons are sent out as a one for all which is another factor. They are bound to hit the sweet spot along the line and perform less well when outside of their comfort zone. You can't expect a cannon to operate on a K2 and a K7 in the extreme but it rarely gets mentioned, occasionally does for stubby guns though.

Yeah BH Autowheel is a solid choice.

But 5 Litres for £20 (Discount Code) is much better value for money considering 5L of Autowheel £60.

It does a fine job for essentially what costs £4 per Litre, here it is at work on some wheels which had plenty of baked in brake dust.

But in general I buy 5Litre Concentrates and dilute them down into dedicated detailing spray bottles so it works out much cheaper in the long run.

... autoglym polar blaster/K4 to accompany the BH pre-wash currently £30/amazon ...
I'll see what build quality looks like versus £50 mjjc , low risk since from amazon

snow arrived just need the weather to co-operate to remove wheels from car.
will probably take the head off the karcher too to lube the recirculation valve since hasn't been used in a while.

(have not had locking wheel nut before ... wondering if you need to maybe get a spare in case the garage or DIY use eventually rounds it off - but maybe it's not chinesium)

Washed it yesterday in the mini storm/hurricane. Refreshing to say the least. Good for another few weeks.
A few weeks?! Please tell me your secret!

I washed mine on Thursday. Did a nursery pickup on Thursday afternoon (8 miles) and it was already quite grubby. Drove to a Christmas event last night down country roads and now it looks like I've been rallying in it!

I'm convinced that having a nice slick surface that beads well makes cars look worse in the winter as you get definite blobs of dirt instead of an even covering :p

Also spotted some paint defects on the roof of the new car while giving it a wash. Personally I'd have gone for the no cost option of a body coloured roof but as this was a from stock special with £16k off the (ridiculous) list price I had to have it with the naff black roof. The masking on the C pillars is rubbish and I found two spots where the black is bubbled slightly. I really should complain and if it was my car I absolutely would (in fact I wouldn't have accepted it in the first place for other reasons) but I've got that company car 'meh' attitude that I just can't shift.

@jpaul Best thing for locking wheel nuts is 4 standard wheel nuts and a bin ;)

This is a pic just over a week later after about 130 miles. Not too shabby.

Muckier roads would indeed be a different story.

ordered up some replacement washers for the Karcher bypass valve -
initially valve seemed fused in but had to run machine at which point vibrations must have freed it up,
nonetheless there is pulsing in the jet power .... cannot see visible wear, so thumbs crossed,
soaked in citric acid valve and the mating surface.
forgot how easy it was to remove valve hadn't needed to disassemble most of the casing
e: purchased wahers from Ransom spares .... seem legit but a poorly named company

I used the cleaner and conditioner yesterday in my X3.

I didn't apply the cleaner neat as leather wasn't visibly dirty, so instead I diluted some in a bucket and water and used a soft brush to clean the leather.

The conditioner is great. My seats are part red and black leather, and as soon as you applied the conditioner it really brought the colour out. The red really pops now. Left leather feeling soft and with that new car leather smell.
