Crewe, if you can send some-one round, i cant phone them, i dont know what to say!

Call TRANSCO 0800 111999 and tell them your co alarm has activated. They will send an engineer within 1 - 2hrs to check your appliances. They will not be able to fix any problems but they will make them safe for you. Its free for this call and for the engineer to visit so it wont cost you a thing.

HAHAHA>

Sorry azab but do you really need to make threads about everything in your life?

Phone the gas board and tell them, or an emergency gas engineer.

Not that hard, or maybe the alarm had something wrong. Which is why your dad turned it off at the mains.

Did he get you that job?

and how long will they take to 'sort' it all?

It may be a low-level alarm, hence the lack of symptoms. In the absence of any evidence the alarm is faulty (a low battery alarm should cause the alarm to 'chirp' - not full alarm), assume you have a problem.

Turn off gas (preferably at the meter), open all windows to ventilate the house. Do not attempt to go to sleep until the house has ventilated for half an hour. If you have any symptoms at all, dial 999. Do not turn on any gas appliance until you've had them checked. Better a cold house than a death trap.

You really shouldn't need to be told this. It's all printed on the alarm and it's all common sense.

PS - If in doubt - dial 0800 111 999. Do it now.

Like i said they will attend within 1 - 2hrs of you calling and probably take around 30mins to make it safe for you. It will be call out engineer who will attend so i would imagine they would be there within an hour of you calling.

This is azab you're talking to remember.

does feeling sick, lightheaded and tight chest make it worse, or are those severe signs

/worried :S

Yes. Now stop being a tit and open all your windows now. Ventilate the house, do not go to sleep, and phone the gas-man!

1. Phone 999, ask for Fire Service and tell the operator that your Caron Monoxide alarm has gone off.

2. Open all the windows to vent the aforementioned Carbon Monoxide.

3. Await arrival of Fire Service who will ensure your safety and call out the relevent companies to get it sorted post haste.

4. If you ignore the above then ensure all windows are closed and go for a nice long, long, never to wake up again sleep. RIP.

PS. Stick the kettle on as these companies do tend to take their time as opposed to the Fire Service who will be with you within a few minutes.
