Career in the Forces? (IT Related)

Whats ROI? Never heard that one...

Record of Interview, with a Corporal.

Its basically what you get after 3 verbal warnings (On our flight anyway).

But our Corporals at Regiment seem to go straight to ROI's.

There goes my perfect record :\, it was 0 verbals and 0 ROI's.

I'm off to hunt a Chinese with the lads, Zefan/Begbie if you are on, know any good ones in Aylesbury? :p

haha, is that during training or out of training?
I cant remember what ours are called in the navy but iv never heard them mentioned since we came out of training, although where iv worked its been quite mature so if you put a foot wrong you get a rebrief and sort it out and nothing else comes of it.

Everyone gets the odd warning here and there - dont worry about it.
Well, except me, im still squeeky clean. Though I would have had one... or two... except I hadnt done a joining routine for a base or signed standing orders so was immune :D

The TA's

Hi all,

Recently I have been to HMS Wildfire and RAF Northolt for career open days, these were the two forces I was looking at but I cant help think I should investigate the TA's as well before I decide which reserves to join.

Now in the Navy you have your home unit, then after training you go and spend time with you 'trade' groups around the country. In the RAF you are based at one site but obviously do your trade there which is fine.

My question is how do the TA's work - do you join one and stay with that one or do you go off to other units to learn your trade but keep your home unit as the main one you go to ?

Hope I make sense..

i was on b stream, what cpls you got? dont get on the bad side of charity or park. park espically he is 1 scary man. good to have him on cpt though his group done nothing but shoot. b stream is great, cpt was awesome.

Yeh I'm B stream too, I have Cpl Cone as my 1 squad leader.

Cpl Park is squad 2 leader so also teaches us in the classrooms within our syndicate, some people have felt his wrath by falling asleep already!

Not really come across the bad side of any of the Cpl's yet, Cpl Cone gets on with me cause I'm pretty much a swot in the classroom, and passed all my tests with 100% so far. :p

I've heard bad things about Cpl Charity, mainly off the other lads who have had a shouting off him.

Cpl Ashmoore is a funny guy, before we got gased he was telling us all his funny storys.

All Cpl Glover wants to do is moan. :p

Hopefully 1 squad gets some good stuff to do at CPT, going off other flights and our flight staff B stream are the best at CPT.

I'm off to revise for my first aid tests tomorrow! Begbie, any idea on what happens on the Friday? Introduction to weapons?

First aid is boringly simple and yes, it should be weapons on Friday. My stream was really sharp on weapons stuff, do exactly what they say or prepare to be mauled.

Urgh got to head to North Yorkshire tomorrow to see an Army medical specialisat, should be the pivitol moment wether I can join or not. Well nervous at the moment :(.

cpl cone is so chilled out, good guy. charity is ok but will do suprise inspections which you will failn like your mugs.

as zefan said they are very oicky with weapons but its enjoyable for some reason.

enjoy it though, espically cpt.

Aye Cpl Cone is awesome, I had Charity today for my first aid practicals. (Which I passed :D and my written test also)

I can't believe that girls now have 11 weeks training, they have 2 weeks "preconditioning" training before they officially start. ( 2 weeks of 2 hours of PT a day and other stuff)

Campion intake (The intake after you begbie and contains about 120 girls!) had a fitness test last friday, the girls had to get 5.8 on the bleep, 1!!! Push up in a minute and 12 RAF situps in a minute.

And 26 failed  and got sent back to day minus 14 lol.

Well passed that medical, was with the doctor for around 5 minutes, after around 4 hours of travelling. Was a bit annoying to say the least, but I got clearance to join :D. Should be starting basic on the 4th of May, can't wait :D.

Its 7 odd on the bleep is it not?

Was talking to a few girls there doing the new course, 11 weeks all together quite a good idea though. A lot of our girls had injuries and failed there fitness test. Which to be fair is shocking considering what they need to do.

Rifles as of tomorrow then, pretty good actually. Cone supposedly is very picky with rifles do not have bad drills and seriously practice every night even for half an hour.

The drills are fairly easy its just memory really, best of luck. You going to Cosford after?

Ouch! Good luck though.

Aye I'll be off to Cosford for my AMM trade training,

The girls definatly needed 5.8 on the bleep though which shocked me.

Did you have Cpl Hodge for PT? The Welsh one which you surely must have taken the mickey out of :p.

"Raise!" "Lower!" "Max effort lads!"

Our flight has had a really good week so far this week in PT, so todays lesson ended on him telling us jokes then asked who could do the best impression of him. :D

Was your time at regiment this relaxed? We have nothing to do in the evenings, we have a deal with our flight staff, that if the block is gleeming on Monday morning we don't have to clean it all week. (Except the essentials of course), All my shirts are already Ironed and my CS95's are in the wash.

I suppose I should enjoy the time to relax. :p

Yeah it was starting to get slacker and slacker as we were leaving tbh, altough our cpls liked to make sure we where busy. Plus we had one washing machine per 90 of us so that made things a bit of a challenge well when we washed them.

I could never really relax though always had to be doing something. IMO its quite crap its getting like that, some of our guys where getting 2-3 chances on their re-sits.

Pretty crap really.
