carling cup football thread 22-23 *spoilers*

Leeds should be 2 up already. One mistake by a Leeds player not hitting the target from the middle of the goal, one terrible decision by the liner.

Should also have possibly had a pen (could have been outside the box) from Carragher, same challenge from him as at weekend.

Unlucky, was a goal there if the other Leeds player hadnt followed it in

They were level, and the ball was over when Becchio slid in IMO.

Becchio was ahead when Beckford scrambled the ball on, dont think the whole ball was over the line before Becchio touched it though. Either way the linesman ballsed it up, but I think the overall decision was right.

Sorry Newcastle fans, the first time I bet on Newcastle was to beat Blackpool and they lost, and today I put a small bet on Newcastle to win and they conceded within seconds of me placing the bet. :p

Well, I think the linesman flagged for Beckford incorrectly, but the player who put the ball in was offside, so it came out alright.

He can't have been offside because Beckford didn't get a touch.

Didn't look like it to me anyway, and either way Becchio was level. The rule states level is onside.

I'll take this though, think we've been the better side. Don't care about this competition just want promotion.

[edit]Liner says he flagged against Beckford...

Watching the replay at HT, Beckford's foot is ahead of N'gog so it's off.

edit: and that's regardless of whether Beckford touched it. He challenged the keeper so he was active.
