CES 2025 AMD & Nvidia Keynote Live Chat [06/01/25]

I think its time to fish out my Nvidia series progression chart.

3070 was there or thereabouts with the 2080Ti in raw performance.

4070 was 3080 level of performance.

If the 5080 is equal to the 4090 it should be doing about 30,000 timespy score at the $1000 dollar point.

Really unsure about whether go 5090 FE and do my own block or go for the aorus 5090 WB as they look to have a model with a block applied this time. I've applied my own blocks to 4090FE and 3080tiFE but this one seems a lot more complicated. Especially with a 3PCB design and liquid metal.

I'd consider the 5080 FE, though I think I'd want to see what the fan noise is like. My 3080 FE has fans that sound like it's going into space when they're at 70%+.

Fair enough. Yeah tbh though seems like QC issues are propping up in a few companies. I stopped using Asus monitors because their QC was awful, I stopped buying EK blocks because the RGB cables were so fragile and would just break off.

Is there a basic guide somewhere? Completely forgot about this. And why do I suspect nvidia will just change the $ for £ and not bother with the exchange rate?

Now to keep an eye out for the white cards, probably a 5080 then AM5 next year.
