Champions League Spoilers 21st/22nd Feb

Out of interest does anyone know if there are any regulations about doctoring the pitch at half-time ? No-one seems to be making a fuss about it so i'm guessing its not uncommon, just i haven't really seen it done (so blatantly) before.
For those that were lucky enough not to watch the Liverpool game last night who wonder what i'm on about - the groundstaff came on at halftime and literally drenched the one half of the pitch that Liverpool were defending for the second half, and left 'their' half untouched.Don't know how much,if any advantage it gave them ,but it just seemed a bit 'off'

or the Manchester derby :D Thats passion alright... Actually, it probably hate more than anything lol...

When UTD won it, I was over the moon couldnt control my self but I think with us winning the Treble had something to do wth it :D

I rest my case. 6 years on and still boasting (not that you don't deserve to,it was a fantastic achievement) ;) Love the way your comment directly contradicts the one above it :D

edit: It's 7 years, not 6!! That makes it even worse :D

As I said earlier in this thread it's happened in England this season, as far as I'm aware it's not against any rules.

I think it happends all the time. It happened not long ago, I think it was at Old Trafford. They drenched one half of the pitch so Utd could have the advantage. I remember the commentator or the guy in the studio say something about it.

May become a common thing in football now. Im not convinced that it gives a team an advantage or disadvantage.

TBH I usually support all British clubs in Europe, but the state Chelsea seem to have deliberately kept their pitch in is pretty diabolical. They deserve nothing more than a whipping imo.
Have you been reading The Sun?
It's only the media who have even hinted at the pitch being deliberately fouled up.

Come off it most people have that opinion just by looking at it, it has nothing to do with the media, they have just voiced most people's opinions. Listening to the legends last night, they all refer to your pitch as the sandpit.

If it's not been left like that on purpose you need to sack your grounds keeper.

Well got my alarm clock set for 6:30am again - it better be worth it!!
The Aresnal match certainly was worth getting up for!! Go on the gooners :D

Hope both teams play awesome football and that barca win this match but Chelsea go through over all (after all best to support your home teams!!)

:o

Because if you play on that pitch you get used to how the ball moves and where the holes, craters :p are so you have the advantage over a team who aren't used to it.
I don't know about that, but the pitch isn't in great condition. Also don't know why they watered it yesterday when it was raining pretty hard. Mourinho admitted himself that Portugese are just as bad as the Spanish and Italians with there dirty tricks (proven by Benfica yesterday; there ball boys kept throwing extra balls on the pitch to slow the game down towards the end) so i wouldn't be suprised if it were true that they didnt re-turf the pitch because of the Barcelona game.

Liverpools fans seem as bad as the Chelsea ones, the Man Utd ones, the Arsenal ones. Everyone is as bad as each other and people trying to score points by saying actually so and so is the worst is just daft. It's like 5yr olds bickering.

Hoping Chelsea stuff Barca tonight but I agree that the way the pitch seems to have been kept in this state and the heavy watering they did yesterday are pretty disgusting tactics.
