MM access is removed if you fall outside of the 90 days 15 posts boundary. So MM access is unilaterally removed. You wouldn't know this was pending unless you had visited the MM and seen the notification. Now it's gone, and a poorly-written first post here says 15 posts in other areas outside MM over a 90 day rolling period in order to retain access.
Yes, when you come back into the 15 posts over 90 days, its restoredFurther down it states that this requirement is to restore access.
Yes, they do, if they stop, they lose it, if they resume to the required level, they get it back.So which is it? Do people have to keep posting to maintain access? A 15 posts per 90-day period running total?
Yes, this statement is accurateOCUK, it states, is a community and by enforcing this they are making sure we contribute.
Yes, this is a first for us, I cannot speak for anywhere else. This is a first for OCUK isn't it? For that matter, the first time I've seen this kind of behaviour online.
Curious how it would "Reduce bad sales" how?
...
Hence by automatically revoking their access, they hope to reduce the number of these users selling items.
Some, of course, will post more regularly, but this may also reduce the likelihood of them scamming/poor comms.
...
It took a good while for this requirement to be decided on (there were thoughts of it being higher!), but judging by some of the reactions here, even if we'd set it at 1 post a year it would still be too high a barIt is literally 15 posts every 90 days for goodness sake.

It wasn't a senseless move.A sensless move, was very active in my overclocking days years ago but do other things now. Still occaisionally buy stuff from the MM for me, my kids and grandson encouraging them into computers, gaming etc. At the end of the day members want or need to sell their used items to buy new, and that ability has been reduced what ever way you look at it.
Victim mindset. It's a personal attack on them.It wasn't a senseless move.
Your last post outside of the MM was in 2015, 9 years ago. Why should you continue to enjoy the benefits of a community resource?
You just need to read the first 5 lines of the OP.There are a lot of posts I'm not going to shift through, so I'll just ask: why are you restricting MM in this fashion now? Were inactives generally causing more problems? Do you just not like the feeling of someone who used to be active continuing to use a community resource?
The threat that keeps on giving
Isn't spam also moderated anyway?I've already noticed an increase in posting in the other sub forums. Genuine posts, not spam.

Yes, we found inactive members were more likely to be involved in problematic transactions. We are also simply automating the existing rules in a new way to reduce the burden of, increase efficiency of, and consistency of moderation actions.
