Change to MM access after 1st January 2024

I propose a social credit system instead.

You need 50 likes per month to get access to the MM. However, every mad or laughing emoji brings this total down. (Don't include football stadium though, Man Utd fans are having a tough time, leave us alone.)

That way, the whole forum can be like SC where you have to say the right things to be accepted in the community and retain the privilege you so desire. (to be liked, and on the right side of history).

Make OcUK forums great again.

I'd suggest reading the Rules and Board Usage sections before posting any further, as you clearly haven't yet

ok i have read them i now know what members market is. no need to get like that with me you could have just pointed me in the direction of the rules sir

i will probably not use the members market anyway i just buy all my stuff brand new from overclockers because it is the best place ever

This rule has swept up people who never or rarely use MM.

It's going to encourage spam, ultimately. That kinda of posting will eventually drive people away.

What's my issue with rule exactly.

Surely you should know that but quality of these mandatory posts seems to be what you're concerned about. Either way, it was an example that no matter what the mods decide there's a high likelihood there will be someone who doesn't like it.

I don't understand why buying and selling in the MM doesn't count as contributing to the community. I've met up with members over the years face to face to exchange goods and even offered in-person assistance when they've had issues. oh well. GG

Ever read the MM rules?

Once you have access, we expect you to continue participating in the other forums outside of MM. If it is noticed that you only post in the MM area then this may be raised with you. If you no longer participate in the wider community outside of MM then we reserve the right to remove your access.

I don't disagree you're contributing, but you're not contributing to the wider, free and open community :) More the excellent slightly exclusive MM community (which is awesome too, meeting sound forumites is great!).

I'm just pointing out the flaws in the implementation. It's not a problem or concern for me because I don't use it.

"In theory" - try it and see what happens :)

This was the point I was trying to make earlier. If I posted an image a day in the 'random image thread' I don't see how that can be classed as spamming due to the nature of that thread, as long as the pictures remained random (I recall some being pulled up for posting lots of images all based around one topic in the past). There are other threads which could also be used in a similar way.

I'm not trying to find ways around the rules, and common sense will prevail for the majority and hopefully the obvious spammers will still be picked out.

I doubt the rules are the same as 2003
No but this bit hasn't changed since forever:

"These terms may be changed at any time without notice.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not register or use the Service. Use of the Service constitutes acceptance of these terms."

We gave over 90 days notice.

If ever there was a thread to use this:

The best thing about having access to the Members Market is being able to see Kakarott trying to sell his Ally handheld console for the last 3 months, knocking £10 off at a time with absolutely no takers whatsoever. In a slack moment at work I actually plotted an X-Y graph of it in Excel, almost perfectly linear. No offence to Kakarott, I'm sure it will sell eventually. If you want I can send you my Excel sheet so you can maybe workout the optimum sell price and exact date it will sell. ;)
How are those hand held things?

My laptop is a bit too big and heavy to be using on the plane and latley I've been getting a bit back into gaming with darktide and rogue trader
