Changes coming to Amazon Prime

I have a feeling you can take out free trial then cancel at end of the month then sign up again for another free trial, ive not tried it but heard from an Amazon employee its what he does?

I do this using Gmail and add .... or other symbols to create a new account every 3 months signing up the 3 months family trial. Works great just remember to delete card details etc once you are done with the account.

Started a trial tonight when we ordered some b'day presents.

Prime video doesn't work for android devices? Wtf? And they've removed flash from the UK website to make sure you can't get around it :(

Stuff it, I'll read a book. Nope, you need an amazon device for that too.

Dear amazon, gtfo!

Streaming does work on android, but only the *******ized version they have on the Kindle Fire devices.

But it is something I've spoken to Amazon about repeatedly. I've pretty much given up on hoping they release something and went with Netflix instead.

As for the books... There is a Kindle app...

Yeah, love film/ prime if just for stuff thats out on dvd/blu. anything thats just released on tv you gotta pay for.

I can see them ditching the post as the apple app no longer appears to allow you to add rentals and the website is quite faffy to use as well. Still works on android app

Can't see I've used it much, still lack of content and what's on there 99% of it is on Netflix, still they have 10months to make it better. I hope and trust they will. kindle and audible quickly improved and are both great.

I've had all of my Amazon "super saver" deliveries arriving within two days recently (e.g. order at 10PM Wednesday, arrives Friday) so I'm not really missing Prime at all. I'm not sure how related this is to my location (darn sarf), anyone else noticed an improvement to the delivery times of the freebie option?

Isn't Prime just fueling the 'want it now must have it now regardless of cost culture'?

I only choose Amazon when it's the cheapest and only choose Free Delivery, it's not done me wrong so far?

I personally get it cause its just faster, free delivery normally takes a few days and I rather get my stuff the next day. I also share my subscription with my gf and bro so its not a huge amount.

I don't think I will renew, unless Amazon as an Android app out. I already have Netflix which offers far wider reach, and allows me to share accounts with my GF. Prime has a few interesting shows but I don't think its enough to pay 30£ for personally.

Off course 1 year is a long time so I will see how things change for me.

I'm glad I read this page today I was gonna buy prime with the streaming as the clincher, I was looking forward to Amazon fire TV too but if they're likely to play software games with that they're gonna lose market.

I'm very confused. I apparently get charged £5.99 for Amazon prime and £4 for Lovefilm by Post. But i can get this for cheaper:

£6.99 per month - Unlimited streaming- LOVEFiLM By Post subscription: Rent an unlimited amount of DVDs or Blu-rays from the catalogue, up to two at a time.

So do i cancel all my accounts and start sign up again?

mmm I pay for Lovefilm by Post and I don't get unlimited steaming

I pay 7.99 a month

I think you only get streamed content if you are an amazon prime member

so I believe if you just have Lovefilm you don't get streaming

I'd like to change to Amazon Prime - but I use next day pre 1pm a lot

and it is FAR FAR more expensive with multiple items with Amazon Prime - bizarely

Amazon Prime - watch out

Hopefully this isn't a duplicate thread, I couldn't find any other.

There's a price hike from £49 to £79 when you next auto renew as they now bundle instant video crap.

There may have been emails but I don't know as the account I use is the mrs' (emails go to her) but typically my card is the default one... No doubt there was info provided in a sneaky email disguised as spam.

60% price increase for something I never asked for and don't want isn't going to go down well is it Amazon, whoever came up with this idea and then agreed to implement it needs a good talking to.

I for one will be cancelling Prime and taking my business elsewhere!

It's been mentioned before and I think anyone who is on Prime has had the email telling them so months ago.

Still, the price is still £49 for another 6 months so it's plenty of time to enjoy it yet.

Gah. I hate unconfirmed auto-renews. Too much **** going on in life to babysit services like this so I don't like signing up for them in the first place.

Edit: On a similar vein, I got a nice £70 charge from 123-reg for a service I originally signed up for on £20 a year. Turns out I'd only cancelled the domain renewal and not the whole package. Had to call an 0845 to get them to refund. Such a pain. To their credit, they did refund it promptly.
