Definitely looks like they are forming a solution for the insertion, indicating that may be the main problem here. If you don't hear/feel the click then it isn't in properly.

I just found out that NV will void warranties if they use a "3rd party" solution. Wut???
How does this help the situation? What are people suppose to do if they notice that they cannot use the included adapter? What in the world is going on here?
So, I am to assume that if someone is using a Cablemod cable right now they are out of warranty if they need assistance?
Jensen went to Taiwan to strike a deal with TSMC and suppliers.
i always thought of moving mobo cmos battery to case, just for easier replacement..
That was taken from a 4090 packaging. Is this only for the 4090 FE cards or is it the same for all the AIB 4090 cards ?
Have you got a link to the cable? The reason people are failing to insert the adaptors properly is because they are defective. I noticed no clicking sound on plugging the Nvidia adaptor no matter how hard I pushed it. I just got my Cablemod cable and it gave an obvious clicking sound just like the usual PCIE cables.
It's clearly the adaptors which are faulty. Those native PSU cables likely face the same issue. The 12VHPWR seems to need a very tight QC which not everyone is doing.
I personally would not recommend using the 4090 with anything other than Cablemod or Moddiy.

It depends on which PSU have.Have you got a link to the cable?
There was a post on Reddit as well where Zotac was also doing this. Maybe Nvidia has informed AIBs behind the scenes to not go ahead with the adaptors.Australian retailer tells customers their Gainward orders will be delayed because Gainward is going to replace all the adaptor cables that the cards come with.
The retailer says Gainward is not alone, just the first to block shipments of the 4090 and that other brands will also be replacing all their cables
I did say redesigning.
I also think it could be done for a lot less than £500
I have used motherboards that could provide 600W or more to the CPU and another 300W+ to the GPUs (4 way SLI) that cost less than £500.
To do what I suggested in my OP would require a great deal of things to be redesigned but that is no reason not to.
people keep on using this trip to Taiwan as some kind of disaster management by Nvidia saying "he is gone to TW to sort out this connector issue personally" as per the crap belowI'm failing to find this remarkable. Isn't this what CEOs do?
