Chemical attack in London...

I dont know the in's and out's of the law on this, but is it that prescriptive that there is no discretion in whether or not someone who claims to have converted religion is being truthful?

There are three possibilities for someone claiming to have converted religion.

1. Its genuine.
2. Its all an act.
3. Its genuine but only done to stay in the country.

The odds of it being number 1, especially for a convicted sexual offender, are extremely small. Anyone with half a brain cell can see this.

Yeah, it's difficult to determine whether it is genuine.

This man's second appeal (on grounds of conversion) was refused. His third (with priest's views considered) was accepted. I'd guess that the priest's opinion adds to the weight of evidence, but i really don't know.

I suppose a deportation order on grounds of public safety would be popular, but don't know how possible that is to carry out.

This is complete nonsense, the UK has one of the lowest Asylum application rates in the whole of Europe

Dowie talks about acceptance rates...

D.P. ready to sperge out re: anything pro immigration he can... ackchually we have the lowest application rates.

Try again D.P.

France rejects >70% the first instance
UGxSs6P.png

meanwhile, the UK accepts over 70%

More than 7 in 10 (71%) of the initial decisions in the year ending June 2023 were grants of refugee status, humanitarian protection or alternative forms of leave. Since 2021, the grant rate has been over 70%

But but but both countries adhere to ECHR rules and all that jaz right?

Of course, countries are so good at tracking this stuff, no chance rejected applicants in France would then attempt the UK afterward... No need to consider some selection effects on top of that right? Nah just stick your head in the sand D.P. this is totally fine, lets just import whomever.

In fact, better still let's let them work as care workers... Sharron from Essex who has a criminal record for flashing her bum on a hen do - failed DBS check. Abdul, fresh off the boat from god knows where, no record = clean record, let's put him into a role dealing with elderly people or vulnerable kids as seems to be happening recently what could possibly go wrong down the line there.

You are just completely wrong on all accounts

When people make these spurious claims it would be helpful to post links to reputable sources. Awful lot of fake news floating about

indeed, i just fail to understand a single argument for not having mandatory ID cards. Most other developed countries do this, most people are happy to carry driving license and these are in fact mandatory while driving, we have to use an ID for age verification . So WTF can't we expect people to have an ID on them, and people register their current abode with the council

Sure, but can we have ones that aren't criminals/scum and can contribute to society instead of damaging it? That isn't too much to ask is it.
sure, this likely requires better funding and. government that is not purposely trying to create news headlines to win the far right vote. A properly funded immigration system wont require anyone to spend months on hotels and will be better resourced to make critical decisions so errors are less likely

LOL WTF

I'm completely wrong am I? You've just posted a link that supports what I said. Absolute lunacy... At least try to read and understand what you're replying to... thanks for confirming the lower acceptance rates in various EU countries!

Care to share any pruning tips for this money tree that must be growing in your garden?
Could use all the money wasted on purposefully making a mess of the system and actually make it work? I know it's very unusual in this country for government functionaries to actually be allowed to do their job but still.

If the country was intelligent it would use all this extra labour to build houses but apparently that's too cerebral for the folks gagging for higher house prices at the cost of the countries economic future, then maybe there wouldn't be any need at all to have to import so many people in the first place as the folks here might actually have an environment to start families again.

immigrants as a whole contribute more to the economy on average than british born citizens, so they are the ones funding your state supported lifestyle

Sure lets lump the US tech workers and French bankers into the same group to make a really honest point there D.P.

FFS you're so transparent with this drivel.

Take the ones who end up in Central London for a start - any of them getting social housing are being given a huge net benefit well into tens of thousands of pounds in some cases... and what are they contributing economically or in terms of tax in return? Uber eats income? Get a grip!
