That's debateable tbh. In the USA it isn't, as once you account for years of legal fees while on death row, it's actually a lot more expensive.

Many people believe that the death penalty is more cost-effective than housing and feeding someone in prison for life. In reality, the death penalty's complexity, length, and finality drive costs through the roof, making it much more expensive.

Absolutely disgusting stuff. Really needs to be punished to the full extent of the law. And worrying that these sorts of things are becoming more frequent with time.

Absolutely, obviously this type of behaviour has been an issue with men of all cultures/ethnicities and religions for centuries especially in England. Clearly it would be unfair and outright racist to suggest that one particular ethnicity/religion/culture has an issue with this type of behaviour.

We clearly have absolutely no idea what the likely ethnicity/religion of these attackers will turn out to be……

who even drives around carrying corrosive stuff like that in their car anyway.......

was it just bad luck and the person happened to be travelling somewhere and needed such a substance......... because if not then they had it is the car deliberately to potentially use on someone.

if its the 1st case then that is bad, but if its the 2nd case its even worse as was almost premeditated.

edit just read the updates. i hope they catch him quickly. would be a shame if he got ran over in the chase!.

The first case makes no sense whatsoever. Even if you’ve just purchased over cleaner/paint stripper or similar for home use, you’re not thinking about weaponising that if you get into a road rage incident.

Didn't they do a study once on the most violent criminals in the USA, and a high proportion of them had specific chromosomal abnormalities that led to extreme violent behaviour.

Wouldn't say its much of a stretch when there's a genetic component that results in a much higher propensity for violence.
Being blokes we obviously also have a higher propensity and yet receive longer sentences than women!

This tells me one of two things. Either you don't live in one of the lowest crime areas in the UK, or you're greatly exaggerating with the "loads of violence". I live in a relatively low crime rate area and cannot remember the last time I witnessed anything remotely violent.

I was thinking we re-enact the final scene of Terminator 2 where he's gradually lowered into the molten liquid, but we use caustic soda (or similar, sounds like that's what was used here).

Would certainly be a shame if the lowering mechanism were to "accidentally" jam at around neck level...

I think it is in the top two or three lowest crime counties in the UK officially, there is plenty of violence in my opinion.
Just to name a few from memory, girl gets stabbed to death in a car park by her own dad, man gets stabbed to death in some drug dispute, old woman gets a bad beating after telling her neighbours to turn the music down, young lad gets a bad beating on a night out and kills himself, man is tied up and thrown off a bridge by vigilantes, my nephew gets repeatedly attacked on night out, work mate gets jumped walking home, another work mate gets beat up. School girl gets beat up and put in coma by other school girls who took turns stamping on her head.

Literally everyone I know has stories of violence, if you dont then Im happy for you.
 
Are we still waiting for a description and details of this suspect that’s still at large after attacking and maiming a dozen people?

So far all we know is it’s “a man”?

You’d think for the safety of the public that the police would want this person apprehended as quickly as possible?
