still the case that if the chinese market is the main market for product and driving the costing - that will compromise the design for western consumer - like cybers handling / durability.

(not on the in-house wait list for an electric range-rover then ?)

Exactly. Not the most durable thing in the world...

The reason a lot of electrical things dont last as long as they used to is they started using Chinese components instead of more expensive but far superior Japanese ones.

Second moment of area isn’t bad on a fat battery. Not sure where you going with that. Honda did a great job 25 years ago of chassis stiffness of the S2000

MG is interesting.. actually a good looking car from every angle bar the rear, that feels a bit.. cyberpunky ? looks odd. I'd never buy it, just tire and wind noise..
 
Chinese government is trying to cover up this Hauwei car crash, top of the line new model crashed Into the back of a truck, the emergency brakes didn't trigger, and the airbags didn't deploy and the occupants were burned alive as the car exploded in a fast EV fire

Chinese covering up poor quality and dangerous engineering. Shocker.

Not sure software controlled door locks are a good idea anywhere tbh. Especially when its your only way out.

That's the line the manufacturer/CCP gave, but witnesses and images say otherwise.

Also seems like there have been other Huawei crashes where airbags didn't work, MGs too.

Skimping on airbags is crazy. I wonder how stable the explosive charge they used is...

Well the video shows the car on fire, rescuers trying to get passengers out and NO airbags deployed. It's pretty clear.

Apparently Chinese press posted the story initially but were silenced, as happens in China.
