Chinese Grand Prix 2010, Shanghai - Race 4/19

think it best we agree to differ :)

Exactly PinkFloyd - I totally agrree

Im also not sure why the FIA changed overtaking not being allowed before the start/finish line to the safety car line

Surely its safer to have them doing what amounts to a rolling start (albeit tighter together) - than charging into a hairpin all bunched together

agree with above.
SC means you should be prepared to stop. JB did not break suddenly or excessively. It was a gradual slow down over a long period.

If anyone should get penaltys it should be the fools diving around. They where caught napping when they should be concentrating.

I heard Schumacher calls it "Germanship" - translates roughly to "to cheat and not get caught".

/legs it

i heard hamilton calls it
pretenditdidnthappenshipandifyougetcaughtmanshipafalseapologyshipwilldoit

its a bit long so no doubt will never catch on

Hehehe. Lets not forget what Hamilton did in Australia last year (apart from drive well).

Lest we forget the antics which Senna got upto, ramming Prost off the road and telling everybody about it, before the race even started. Lets not forget that Prost did something similar too, taking Senna off, to win the title. Lets also not forget what Prost did at Ferrari, when Mansell was his team-mate (switching cars if Manswell was quicker).

At the end of the day, all the top F1 drivers have done questionable things. Its what makes them competitive and top of the pile - they push themselves, those around them and the rules, to the absolute limit.

Alonso, Senna, Hamilton, Prost, Schumacher - they are all cut from the same cloth. I'm sure Vettel will soon show his hand.

The pit lane release rules need to be dropped and replaced with a standard automated FIA traffic lights system for every pit box. The team could then press a button which indicates they have finished their stop. Then the FIA-controlled pit release system waits for a free space in the pit lane. If it detects a potential collision then it doesn't turn the light green until it is safe to release. This actually wouldn't be that hard to implement and it would increase perceived safety of the pit lane. But of course it would take away from the racing.
Would Ferrari get the contract to supply that system? Like McLaren "We don't do cheating" Mercedes got the deal to supply the standard ECUs? :D

It was. I loved it when Kimi tapped Lewis on the shoulder and pointed at the traffic light :D
That was brilliant. :D

Traffic lights?

It's getting silly, want to make it safer for mechanics, put a barrier in - that's safety, pit lane speed cameras and traffic cameras just make the sport look silly.

i have just finished off loading 2 jumbo`s full of F1 cars and there spares etc at Ema airport, the teams are picking them up sometime today.
the amount of kit they take to races is amazing

If you want to reach the upper echelons of F1, "Germanship", is an important skill to learn. And the greater the number of World Titles you attain, the higher your level of "Germanship" must be.

Out of the current crop of F1 drivers (excluding MS), my belief is that Hamilton possesses the highest levels of Germanship. I also have high hopes for Vettel, though he is yet to really show his potential in this area.

:)
