Chinese Grand Prix 2010, Shanghai - Race 4/19

God another engine failure for Ferrari? They have serious serious problems. Championship is over for them for all intents and purposes.

That Toro Rosso crash is just shocking :o I love how Beumi still tries to turn the wheel though even though he clearly knows there are no front wheels left :D

I shall remind you of this come the end of the season. We shall see how wrong/right you turn out to be. ;)

That seems a bit mean? Afterall nobody here threatens to remind you of all the bad predictions you make? :p

I don't mind though as I am confident now that Ferrari are no threat to neither championships. It just isn't possible given how consistently Red Bull and McLaren are up there. At some point in the season Ferrari will need to either start taking grid penalties to get new engines or start "detuning" their existing engines. Either choices are extremely bad if fighting tooth and nail for a championship.

Apparently that blown Ferrari engine could have been one of the Bahrain engines, but who knows...

Hey, I accept that I was wrong about Button/BrawnGP last year, but what happened last year was freakish.

Feel free to remind if I was wrong about prediction and I will eat my words. ;)

I still feel that Ferrari are very much in the title race this year, mainly because they have Alonso. Had there been no Alonso at Ferrari, I would've agreed with you.

The one they ran in FP1 today, albeit briefly, was swapped out of the car in Bahrain after Qualifying due to 'precautionary concerns'

The one used in FP2 today, was the one used in the Bahrain race - seems like they were right in Bahrain.

So, given that the one used in Malaysia was a new engine for that race and went foom. I believe he also had a new engine for Australia.

It looks like that Alonso has has 4 different engines in the car already - 2 are destroyed and 2 are part used. So, if you say that the 2 part used have already done race distances, it looks like all his remaining engines will be doing a minimum of 3 race distances, plus qualifying and the free practice sessions.

Anyone wondering if Ferrari will be turning the revs down wherever possible now?

So, in a nutshell, while all the other cars have used their 2nd engines (up to Malyasia), the Ferrari drivers used a 3rd engine, in the same race.

Excellent. No EJ on the F1 this weekend. His excuse note said something about a volcano.

This is true btw :)

Hopefully the BBC will find a stand-in pundit as a replacement though...

It's almost like he hit the "Detach wheels" button.
