Chinese Grand Prix 2011, Shanghai International Circuit - Race 3/19

That's another 10th place finish for Schumacher then. Every race something breaks on his car, so he's either unlucky or Rosberg is sabotaging the car ;)

I don't buy the DRS problem, his final run ended when he locked up and run wide. Pushing too hard.

rosbergs had the same issues... the balance goes all wobbly under breaking because the downforce isnt on the rear wing like it should be.

if it was all a big lie why would they be running sensors on the wing and stuff in practice... in testing they used a different wing they should go back to it if they are having all these issues

just caught Q3, were was webber?

gap from 1st to 2nd is ridiculous.

bet vettel wasnt even pushing that, prob just a banker lap.

not sure about the red overalls, is it a sign of things to come? red car next year? (its the last year its mclaren mercedes isnt it?)

hope something happens at the start tomorrow or it will be a bit of a cake walk for vettel(again).

i think hamilton will jump button but mainly because he cant stand to be 2nd best. prob take too much out of his tires doing so.

Webber didn't get out of Q1 - his car just didn't seem to have any real pace. At least it will give us some more overtaking for tomorrow!

Vettel doesn't even seem to be pushing, it really is a huge gap. I guess they are focussing on his car first before touching Webber's car. Kers does seem to be a problem for them, but that seems to be pretty much the only problem!

Don't really like the new McLaren overalls myself, but probably a sign of things to come.

1 more than half races, so 10 wins but of course he wouldn't need to score anything else, 6 wins and it's very hard to be beat. Realistically 7 wins and it should be yours.

Pretty much, a few more races with no rain and reliability and it will all be over - they will be able to do what Ferrari did back in their dominant era and start working on next years car.

I expect vettel to have won the world champioship by either silverston or the nurburgring tbh, the only race i can see the red not perfoming well in is monte carlo due to the slower race pace which wont optimise the front wing.
Pretty sure if he wins the racing campionship halve way throught the season viewing figures for the rest will plumit.
Its just typical that the ape like creatures that work for the FIA cant spot a flexing rear wing, is their any actual proper race experiance engineers in that place...
Bring back max he may like to be whipped and chained but at least he could spot something as obviouse as this...

how many wins do you need to guarantee the WDC?

If Vettel wins tomorrow historically speaking the title should be his, every single driver that has won the opening 3 races has gone on to win the WDC.

I have no doubt MSc had a problem with his DRS running into turn 14, that's unfortunate but it doesn't account for why he was much slower than Rosberg in every sector and ended up 1.8 seconds behind his time.

I thought Brundle/Coulthard were expecting two stops - ie three sets of tyres to be used

Will be interesting to see who comes out ontop at McLaren given the usual grid is reversed tomorrow (between the two) , Can Hammy go all out and yet still prreserve life in the tyres or will JB come out on top again

Not sure whether Hammy's totally fresh set will make a huge difference (especially if he needs to hammer them after the 1st stop) and whether he can still have a decent race pace on the harder to make everything count

Feel for Petrov not being able to attempt Q3 , if he can repeat the electric start from last week, will he be up amongst the Ferrari's or even further forward? Can Rosberg get a decent start to muscle past (and stay ahead) of McLarens. Alonso could have course start brilliantly and slow everyone down as Renault did last week (I hope not but he is on the clean side after all)

Not even sure why I thought anyone would be three-stopping (well they might, but as you say it seems unlikely), but yes he'll have brand new tyres for both pit-stops unlike both Vettel and Button,

I think that should be enough to get him ahead of Button, but not enough to beat Vettel, imo.

Well, he could win 14 races and technically still not win it :p

Yeah cos the top ten cars are soo close...... oh wait no vettals car pulled out .7 of a secound whhilst scrapping its limp lip around the track like a drooling special needs kid, ffs.
The fia bring one good thing (the high degrading tyres) then just completly ignore blatent cheatign because their tiny imbacile minds cant comprehend that their tests dont show flex when at race speeds the wings having upto and above 200kgs of force applied.
FFS i probally stick to motogp little less numbskulls in the regulation side involved.

You'd need more than that to guarantee it, what if somebody else got all seconds in those races, he'd only be 70 points behind and still have 9 races to make them up in (3 wins for him and 3 DNF's for the leader would do it).

Unlikely to happen though.

beaten.....

Christ on a bike calm down fella. It's theoretical, yet highly improbable.

You seem utterly blind with rage, bless :D

guess we would need to see the onboard and how close schumacher was to the car infront in compoarision to rosberg but i dont think it was shown?

The race really needs anyone to get ahead of Vettel at the start, to have a look to see what pace they have in hand to get ahead.

Yep.

The problem for the rest of the field is that Vettels 3 strengths are time trialling from the front, qualifying and getting to the first corner first.

Unless another driver gets to the first corner first, Vettel will begin time trialling yet again and (providing he doesnt have a problem), will get another straight forward win.

Last year, at least Webber was taking points away from Vettel, but this year, for whatever reason, that is not happening. This is allowing Vettel to win races without too much trouble/pressure.

Another driver must put him under pressure. If this happens, Vettel might start making small errors during his race laps and won't go so fast.

It's interesting that Nuts is saying that his team are not making F1 predictable, yet Vettel is securing pole position after pole position and secures win after win. I'm struggling to understand how anybody could have the gall to say that RBR are not making F1 predictable.
