Chinese Grand Prix 2011, Shanghai International Circuit - Race 3/19

If Hamilton wants to outscore Button this race I think he needs to forget about Vettel if Vettel still leads after the first corner. It's really not worth pushing too hard on these tyres to go after a car that has probably a second per lap on you.

He would be better placed to concentrate on Button, his tyres and see if Vettel breaks down.

Webbers recovery drive will hopefully make the early start worth it and show just how much pace they can use when required.

It's interesting that Nuts is saying that his team are not making F1 predictable, yet Vettel is securing pole position after pole position and secures win after win. I'm struggling to understand how anybody could have the gall to say that RBR are not making F1 predictable.

I think it's because he has first hand experience of how hard everyone is working to make that happen. Perhaps when we all make comments on how much better and easier RB are making this look it's as though we are dismissing the amount of effort that they are continually putting in to maintain the gap.

Also I expect from a team insider when you keep reading 'Mercedes should be great they have a new update coming' people keep getting excited when the truth is just about everyone is testing and updating continually. Well those with money.

Then again he could just be grumpy because he's working extra from 4pm onwards for no extra money, for 'love of the job' ;)

He forgets he bought a small island in a carribean with his win bonuses :D

I guess when you are busting a gut all through the year to put a car on the grid, it's never as predictable and nailed on as it is for us fans.

Anyone lese noticed that the Renault/Lotus rear wings seem to be open slightly more than other cars, and i mean all the time not just some of it.

May just be an optical illusion but i have been looking at all 3 events and it definitely seems to be more apparant than on other cars.

It may just seem that way because of the colouration of the car...dunno, and this isnt a conspiracy theory, just keep spotting it and wondered if anyone else did.

Hope this helps in explaining what i mean....

Why don't RB just buy the Renualt KERS? As an engine supplier Renualt would probably happily sell it.

McLaren happily use Mercedes KERS and Sauber Ferrari's

I believe Williams are the only team that have completely manufactured there own KERS

with the wing i think they will all have that slight gap, because it is a moving part you wont get a perfect edge to edge when the wing is set.

depending on the angle of the car and how the wing opens will show the gap.

i predict button to give vettel a worry in to turn 1 and hamilton to zoom past as they battle. hamilton goes on to win kick starting his winning streak causing vettel to crumble and putting hiim on the road to the WDC :p

I'd like to see a clean getaway from the front runners tomorrow just to see what the pure race pace of the maclarens is versus vettel.

I suspect Rosberg could get the jump on the maclarens though, I seem to remember he starts well in the mercedes and I wouldn't say the same of the maclaren pair.

I'm guessing but I imagine Mercedes developed that Kers system alongside Mclaren. I doubt it fully belonged to Mercedes. I imagine the paperwork for it is very complicated :D

If I was Renault I wouldn't sell the Kers to RB either. They need some sort of advantage.

CH has already said that Adrain Newey will not compromise the car, therefore it'll have to be a custom unit to fit round Neweys design.

Vettel has shown over the course of the last few GPs, that he is an excellent starter. When was the last time he actually lost a place off the start? I'm not sure myself, but my understanding that he is the best starter on the grid...bar none.

Given the above, if anybody is able to get ahead of Vettel on the first lap, they will have done something that very few people have been able to achieve, in recent GPs.

Out of interest, when was the last time Vettel actually lost a place, off the start?

he usually loses places at the start schumachers the mercedes that usually makes up 2-3 places. ;)

Just means he is due for a bad start :) - fingers crossed, it will mix it up. I can see this being a snorefest, not ideal at 8am on a Sunday!

F1 championship over before it's got going due to German driver shocker.

never mind, McL might be fighting for wins in the second half of the season.

Is Hammi just using Rooney negotiating tactics or is he serious?

i wouldnt mind vettel winning every race aslong as the race driver showed whats going on behind him but usually they are boring and show someone in the lead and miss all the action...

was it last race webber was coming into the pits so the race director showed webber instead of the battle that had just started to happen on screen to down the field:@

Yeah what happened to the Asia races starting at 4,5, or 6 AM - Those were much better as you could get then go back to sleep. At 8am it's a pain to go to sleep after the race.

8am isn't early. Record it and watch it when you surface, if you're not man enough :p

Yeah I love the early races, can get a sneaky hours kip after the race then and keep the forum for the night entertainment. Atleast then the rest of my Sunday is still intact :)
