Chip for 300C

You do know that vtec controllers only move when the hi cam comes in dont you? They cant change where the fueling and ignition map changes from normal to vtec map in the ECU so you actually lose torque as the hi lift cam is running on the normal (wrong) map until you hit the normal vtec point.

Eh?

You can do what you want with it afaik.

Many people lower their VTEC engagement points and fueling to suit.

Not with a vtec controller. You need another controller to change the fueling. Tbh if you want to change the vtec point its better just to change the ECU as a decent vtec controller and fuel controller come to pretty much the same price.

Comparing a Yaris to a 2.0 Golf GTI is about right, both slow crap boxes to drive.

No offence, driven both and hated both. Both rubbish. To be fair the Yaris I drove was no chipped turbo but it was horrible as a car in general.

You should try out the SRT8. Although I hate the 300C, there is something about the SRT that will make you love the car!!!!

i know this is abit off topic, but at work in the loft I have 4 * 22" wheels for a 300C (with 2 or 3 good tyres), need to get rid of them.... would he be interested ?

AFAIK they need abit of a refurb as the chrome has bubbled up abit, they are VERY bling though

The 300C has this odd appeal to me, the SRT8 even more so. I really, really like them regardless of how crap they might well be.

The Golf GTI really isn't slow. I think you should be quiet :)

It's probably the worst GTi ever made, not worthy of the badge imo.

0-60 Top Speed BHP
2.0 GTI 3d 10.2 s 121 mph 115 bhp

0-60 Top Speed BHP
1.5 VVT-i 3d 8.7 s 118 mph 103 bhp

Speedy Gonzalez :) I can see a 1.5 vvt-i turbo being fairly spirited. However the 150bhp Japanese Yaris Turbo had similar performance figures to the Fiesta ST so it's still not that fast.

Finally got around to ordering a diesel chip and we received it this morning.

My Dad decided on this DTUK® CRD-T - 2 Channel Common Rail and Turbo Boost System from Diesel Tuning UK.

I've read through the instrtuctins and it looks very simple to fit, one connection to the common rail sensor and another to the boost pressure sensor.

I will try to fit it if I have time after work but if not then I will do it at the weekend but I would like to know if anyone has any previous experience in fitting a diesel mod and if there is anyhting else I should be wary of when attempting the installation?

Cheers
NVP

You should be aware its a cheap bodge and you should have had it mapped properly or bought a car with a better engine in the first place. I can't help but be a bit suspect about 'tuning boxes'. Surely it just cons the engine into dumping more fuel etc in?
