Chip for 300C

plus if you possibly could get something like that it would be cheaper but it wouldnt increase HP or torque.
hahaha-wut.jpg

Yo guys I just put a VTEC controller on my 300C diesel, lets try it!

BRRRRRR *YSTTHCCHSCTHSTH* AMG MY VALVES.

Genuine belly laugh, right there. You win 1 internet. :)

well i do apologize What would be good is if you could get something like a vTec controller they are really fun to mess around with by moving the power band around depending on what type of run you are on. (like moving the power band lower down so that you have low down torque when drivin around town)

You do know that vtec controllers only move when the hi cam comes in dont you? They cant change where the fueling and ignition map changes from normal to vtec map in the ECU so you actually lose torque as the hi lift cam is running on the normal (wrong) map until you hit the normal vtec point.

You ppl are just either stupid and cant read what ive put or just been completely ignorant and choose not to process data.

Seem as i did say something LIKE a vtec controller. Something that is similar that can more the power band around.

You're the ignorant one.

i said low down toque cause hes got a turbo thats where the most toque is normally on most older diesels its around the 2.5k mark so if you could move that down to say around the 1.5k mark it would be better.

nvm it doesnt matter anymore. Just join the Chrysler 300c club im sure that theres loads of ppl on there that have remapped their cars

Remap it, don't get a chip/tuning box. All they're doing is giving it more fuel or winding up the boost. A proper remap will change all the points on the fueling map (not sure on the word I'm after, but load sites and fuel tables are words I seem to remember?), and will still be using all the sensor readings whereas the chip would just be "OMG GIVE IT MORE FUEL".

Chrysler 3.0 CRD V6 is 218 HP & 510 NM stock, and one mapper claims (for example) to get 258 HP and 600 NM.

Also, it's a lot better to get a proper remap (check it for errors, stick it on the rollers stock, give it a generic 3.0 CRD V6 map on it, stick it on the rollers again, and then customize the map to your engine) done rather than simply a guy coming to you with his laptop and sticking on a generic 3.0 CRD V6 map.

Just did a quick google on this: Another mapper says they'll get 268hp & 612nm from a remap, and from a new exhaust and intercooler (again mapped to suit) it'll be 331hp & 724nm. After that it's new turbo and injectors etc.

EDIT: Though whether you'd want to run that through the standard 'box....

Ban, quote dis if you are down

Thanks again guys, it's a wonder I managed to get some sense out of this topic after the way "somepeople" went on about yaris's and v-tec! As said before I will try and find more information on specific remaps and chips used by 300C owners...

Just another quick thought though, at http://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/faqs.php they say
Q) Will it damage my engine?
A) Our units are designed to improve your performance no more than 30%. So no, this is well within the tolerances of most engines. We have never had to our knowledge an incident where our unit has been responsible for any engine or engine related problem.
If these are not meant to strain the engine, how are they a bad idea to use? Or is it not that they are not unsafe, just inefficient compared to a custom economy remap?

EDIT: Off home now so make take me an hour or so to respond to replies.

Loads of people on here have remapped their cars.

Do you mean a boost controller? ;)

yeah them chips things are rubbish they trick your engine into think theres more air than there is which then make the engine work harder. Only problem is that they blow your engine up like my mates 206. You need to get a ECU piggyback unit then you can remap how much power you want that the engine gives. These units are good if you have done some mods like air filter, sports cat, etc.

My mates got 1 on his yaris turbo and its mapped the engine from 105hp to 150hp

You are trying to tell me that a remapped Yaris will add 50% to it's BHP? I somehow find that VERY hard to believe.

haha im sure that the Yaris turbo would beat whatever youve got and its still economical even though its got a turbo. Plus my over mate has a supercharger on his and well that beats Civic type-Rs and its always funny to see them laugh at 1st then see their faces when they loose to a Yaris. I know ppl are gonna say im talkin bull but think about 140hp on a car that weighs under 1000Kg are the power to weight ratio is a lot better than a Civic

The Yaris is the worst car I have ever had the displeasure of driving. I have driven most of the Yaris range whilst taking my Avensis in for it's service every 10 weeks and I have reached the point of using my own car instead of one of the poor excuses for a car that they loan out.

thanks my Yaris is pretty fast for what it is. Its the same as theirs 1.5 Sport and ppl always say whats sporty about a Yaris. Well i say get in and i'll show you. 0-62 in 8.5 secs soon shuts them up. plus it nice around corners and can beat MK4 2.0l Golf GTi of the line and stay infront and can beat most little hatches as well.

Pretty much anything can beat a 2.0L Golf GTI. How is 8.5 seconds going to shut up anyone? That's the same as my old Ford Focus.

Finally, I really don't understand why people brag about their car (or their mates cars) when they are mundane run-abouts designed for supermarket shopping. Especially considering there is plenty of 18-25 year olds on here driving extremely nice cars.

the DTUK tuning boxes are reasonably well known

One of the blokes on the VXR forums works for them and drives a 335D with 500 + lb/ft of torque via one of their tuning boxes.

Will take years to get the cost of the remap back however. Expect 1 or 2 mpg more, if that. Their main selling point is improved performance.
