Slightly off topic, has anyone gone a long period of time without chocolate and come back to it finding its far more bitter than you remember?

Have a friend who use to eat a ton of chocolate, but after giving it up for lent, he came back to the stuff and was near disgusted at how bitter it is. Now how cant eat chocolate but oddly has a craving for the taste of chocolate he 'remembers'.

I tend to have periods where I don't eat much sugary food for a while, when I try the likes of Cadbury milk chocolate after a few weeks of this it tastes very very sickly sweet

As above I like valrhona and buy it bulk for cooking, I've also treated myself to some Amedeo Chuao before and it's the best chocolate I've ever had

Love dark chocolate (if you go for the very very high % stuff then don't chew it just let it melt on your tongue). Milk is OK and white is horrible sickly sweet.

Hotel chcolat are very good, however, my favourite is Maya in Inverness. I'd rather 2 chocolates from there than a whole box/tin of anything you can get in a supermarket.

It varies, overall I like dark but it's a different breed to white or milk, which can be nice on occasion, although I'm not much of a sweet eater there are times when a lovely sickly chocolate cake is the only thing which will do.

Any high cocoa dark chocolate with the sea salt, very nice indeed.

I'm not a big chocolate eater, but for me milk chocolate is my favourite. I don't mind dark but would always choose milk over it!

I don't really eat much chocolate but when I do, it's milk chocolate. I find that all dark chocolate is a bit too bitter, but perhaps that is because I haven't had any good dark chocolate.

I only ever eat white chocolate when I make white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake.

I had some white chocolate last night first time in ages, although it's not actually chocolate due to it's lack of coco mass but I do like sickly sweet white.

Otherwise, milk!

I don't really eat chocolate anymore (what happened!?!), but I occasionally get the Lidl 85% chocolate. Quite like the taste, though it is ridiculously high in calories.
