Chromecast

Cheap deal. Tempted to buy a third, both my other two are imported so would be nice to have a UK one should any deals arise. These are used constantly too in my household.

Debating whether or not to get one. Not sure how often I would use it, can only think of streaming YouTube stuff to the TV, other than that I use XBMC to stream everything else.

Does it support the BT and SkySports app?

Can these or the Roku streaming stick be plugged into an amp instead of directly into the TV? Thinking of getting one to remove some clutter from the unit but can't seem to get the TV to pass audio back to the amp without using an optical cable which only gives 2.0 sound.

No but I can't think of a single reason why it wouldn't.
If your concerned post me over your amp, i'll gladly give it a test ;)

I keep looking into amps and speakers but I just don't trust my toddlers to not poke the speakers :(

Damn, tempted to get a 3rd one now :D

I want Android TV when that comes out to replace hopefully all my xbmc pc's and mac mini's.

I caved in. Ordered my third with free delivery. Quidco too.

I too want Android TV. I was looking at a new TV a while back but figured I would wait for Google I/O. I think it would be wise to wait now as today's SmartTV's IMO are not smart at all. With an Android TV I would like to think the software will be updated frequently to match changing technologies.

Anyone thinking about getting one go for it!

One of the best purchases I have made in a while, can stream media from my server onto my Nexus 7 and fire it onto the chromecast in seconds. Likewise with the YouTube App, Plex and also BT Sport.

Me neither but didn't want to just cross my fingers. Ordered one now though, decided it's so small that it'll be no hassle to return if for some reason it won't work.

Toddlers eh, better not post you the amp then to keep it dribble and chocolate free :D

Has anyone used flixster with this? I thought they had added Chromecast support months ago, but the option to cast doesn't appear on either my Nexus 5 or 7.

I was tempted but then realized I had literally no need for it. PS3 or laptop could do anything I wanted really.
