Chromecast

They don't although you can stream from Google Drive's Presentations apparently.

Anyone tried or seen this in action yet?

I just don't want to have to stream a desktop, really looking to take a PC / Laptop out of the equation all together.

Just tried this from the phone. No options for casting. Works fine though from PC.

£30 @currys and Amazon. Going to pick mine up this morning, only thing I'm interested in really is mirroring so hopefully that will be out of beta soon.

EDIT: Reserved at 9:20 and by the time I picked it up at 10:00 all stock had been allocated with no new stock until end of next week  didn't realise it would be so popular.

Had 2 for quite a while and have family members who also use them. They all stream content from my Plex server, with use of Netflix and Youtube thrown in. I really can't fault them and they have worked seemlessly for me.

I've just been waiting for iPlayer support, which is now listed as a supported app yet it seems BBC haven't pushed out the update yet. Once this is done, I'll be using the Chromecast for about 95% of my viewing time.

Been watching live TV through the iPlayer all afternoon. Worked seemlessly.

That'll be my sky box getting turned off then

Interesting, there was something I read a while ago where Google didn't support live streaming. That's why Red bull app would only show prerecorded videos.

If you only watch BBC channels in standard definition why would you have even bothered with Sky in the first place?

I didn't. I used the sky box to receive freeview content because I have no aerial.

I should probably clarify that most of the time I only watch Cbeebies for the children and then the news on BBC1. All of my other entertainment comes from Youtube, Plex or Netflix.

I picked one up this afternoon, pretty happy with it so far, it would be nice if picasa worked with it though.
