Cheers, I'm ecstatic! They were meant to be out tomorrow. I went upstairs to check my email randomly, and saw the 'CIMA' sender and 'Results' subject line - my heart jumped into my mouth and some poo came out. Was convinced I'd ballsed this one up. 60/100 though so acceptable pass, would have been equally happy with 50 though. God I'm going to be useless tomorrow...

Best of luck with your results. I disliked P8, got an horrific balance sheet in my exam!

PASSED! Yippeee!! All done now. No more exams possibly ever but certainly for the forseeable future. Time to get very, VERRY drunk. Work tomorrow though, should have booked the day off but got year reporting to do. God knows what BS figures I'll produce tomorrow!

Anyone else got their November results tonight?

Well done :) It's a good feeling!

The e mail results usually go out early. I think it's in case there is a massive error, they have a cushion of time to sort it out. It's always better to get them when you aren't expecting it though.

Congrats,

When you finish you can try and get a proper qualification like ACA ;)

Yeah, cause I love ticking audit boxes ;). Kidding I know it's far more than that.

Interesting one though...from all-round business acumen point of view, I found that CIMA was the choice for me since I wanted to work for a firm and achieve within a position, rather than visit many firms doing audit and corp tax checking etc. Most FDs are CIMA iirc. However ACA opens up fantastic opportunities in industry yet also allows you to go into practice etc. so if I ever wanted to go into practice I'd have to do a conversion qualification.

Christ penalty in the Reading game!!!

SCORRRED!!!

Management accountants, auditors, you all suck! CTA all the way! *runs*

In all seriousness I'm doing CTA and CA. Congrats on your result! I get my first CTA result on the 19th :)

I've looked into going on to ACA after CIMA, cant imagine not doing any more exams or learning (yes i'm a nerd!). Youd have to do 1 of the bottom tier exams, 2 of the middle and all 3 of the top tier, you get exemptions from the rest. I think thats what it was, will double check.

If the learning is like CIMA I could just get hold of the study text and course notes from ebay (dead cheap) and sit the exams myself.

Im half way through ACA, got 2 results coming through next friday hoping for 2 passes but been realistic i think i've failed one. Work in a small practice so i do pretty much everything there audit, accounts and tax. Going to specialise in accounts and business tax once i'm done with training.

Give it three months in the office and you'll realise the CA part is essentially useless if you're working in tax. I have my CTA Law and Ethics coming up in March (we're on a slightly different order to you E1s) but don't do the proper CTA stuff until Autumn (assuming I pass my ICAS TPS papers). Ain't exams fun!

You need professional experience as well for ACA/CA although the work you're doing in your current role might well count towards that.

I'd expect ACA to be somewhat harder, to what degree I'm not sure however as I've never seen any CIMA exams!

Amusingly though my firm has ceased letting students do ACCA as it was deemed too easy, only ACA is allowed!

Oh, and the bottom tier aren't really exams, they're e-assessments that just need a few days of learning, not a "traditional" exam.

Awesome stuff, yeah I've got the impression ACA is harder, then ICAS even more so!

I think it's swings and roundabouts. I was told our ICAS TPS exams were easier to pass than the ICAEW 'Advanced Stage'. But our TPE exam is harder than ICAEW's equivalent 'Case Study'.
